My first effort on this forum ran from October to March and resulted in approx an 18lb weight loss, although all of that was lost in the first two months. It felt like only 9lbs, because my original weight was taken with a faulty scales that weighed me in 9lbs light. Reading through my old diary, all the enthusiasm was on display in the first couple of months and was downhill from there. It was a fairly poor result for 5 months given I put in quite a lot of effort.

Anyhow...

I got sick of constantly being sore after training and used any excuse not to go to the gym.
I started giving in to any food temptation going.
I got tired of not having my usual couple of glasses of wine in the evening.

I've still sort of kept things going in my two months break, in that I haven't given back any weight. I'm going to the gym maybe once or twice a week. Went on a holiday, put on weight, worked it off. Had a long party week, put on weight, worked it off.

Prompted by a medical this morning which reinforced my need to give it another concerted go, I'm going to give it another concerted go, for the next 9 weeks.

The plan is to stay more relaxed this time round rather than go at the gym like a demented hamster.

-3 gym sessions per week - min 30 mins cardio, 20 mins weights
-30 min walk at least 5 days a week
-1 round golf every 2 weeks at least
- Reduce alcohol consumption to no more than 375ml of wine per week (should be 0ml but it won't be).
- I'm not going to count calories, but I want to stick to a decent breakfast, small lunch, decent dinner, minimal snacking - should land in the 1800 to 2200 calorie zone most days, never above 3000. Less than I ate in my first effort as I won't be pushing as hard at the exercise.

I'll try to keep this as a weekly journal rather than daily, but may chip in now and then if I get bored or need inspiration.
