I just joined these forums. There's tons of great info and it's going to take me a long time to get through it all. I do have some specific questions about my curl ups though.
Background -
Been doing curl ups and push ups a lot for the past 1.5 years. I started out doing them every other day and about a month ago I switched to doing them 6 days a week (3 days on, 1 day off etc.).
I do the curl ups while holding dumb bells. I'm up to a 15 pounder. I do anywhere from 200-300 of them. For about the past 9 months I've always done at least 200 (before that I was building up real slowly since I'd never done curl ups before). I do sets of around 20. Curl ups, push ups and running are pretty much the only exercises I do.
My goal is to be able to do 75 (unweighted) without taking a break. Right now I can do 45 on a good day.
Question-
When I go from the up position down to the floor I have a really hard time stopping when my "lower shoulder blades" hit. I always go all the way back down until I'm laying flat on the floor.
I was going to post a link to a video to help explain this, but the forums won't let me.
In the video, he doesn't go all the way back down. Do you have any tips on how to get better at this? Is there some sort of stretch I can do to make it easier to curl?
I don't know if it's just a lack of muscle because I've done so many of these that it seems I would have enough muscle if that was all it took.
