soreness after workout?

i keep wondering whether your supposed to feel sore the day after a workout...i do different muscles on different days, they usually last about 20 with pretty hard intensity, on a scale from one to ten i would say its about a 6 or 7 during the workout, but the only times i feel anything the next day is after squats or dead lifts, but not with anything else, is soreness the nxt day a sign of a good workout or not?

Soreness is definately not a sign of a good workout, but that doesn't mean it's a bad sign either. Your muscles will usually be very sore to begin with if you are just starting out with weights after a long period away from them, or if you dramatically alter your workout meaning that your muscles need time to adjust.
In my opinion, as long as there is no damage being done such as pulled muscles and shooting pains then I'd just stick with it. If it's causing you too much trouble then try resting a little more between sets, or not lifting as far towards failure as you are currently doing.

When you begin weight training or using bigger weight for the first while if may be sore. After awhile it will stop. Don't worry.

i meant to say i dont get soreness except for a couple compound workouts (dead lifts and squats) but other than that i never get sore, and i thought that not feelin sore may be an indicator or a workout thats not intense enough...

depends on the workout. don't make yourself sore and don't worry if your sore.
and sometimes you can be sore if you don't sretch or dont do it right.
