Something needs to change!

Hi All! I have just signed up to this site today. I did a diary on another weight loss forum site and it didn't go so well. So here I am trying again....why? Because something in my life needs to change. I have always been big, but the last few months I have been noticing a huge difference in my health. I have been having a lot of heart palpitations and sleepless nights, my joints ache all the time and I get out of breath just going up the stairs with the washing basket.

Well, no more. I have to change something otherwise I am going to be in my coffin before I reach 40!

So...I currently weigh 255lbs. This is my highest, I have had a couple of spells where I have dropped down to about 220lbs, but it nevers stays off for long and I return right back to where I was.

My target weight if I wanted to get my bmi to below 25, is 152lbs. But thats not my target. My target is to get down to 200lbs. I can then re-set my final goals.


I work in accounts and live in the countryside with my 3 horses, 3 dogs, 2 cats and my fiance.
 
Welcome to the forums. You are wise to set smaller goals, then when you reach them you can re-evaluate and set new ones. Just knowing that you need to do this for your health should be a big motivation to keep going. The more weight that you lose, the better you will feel...I can guarantee it!

Thanks guys. It's good to be able to bounce ideas off people. I really have no idea where to start?

I've tried lots an lots of fad diets. I've done slimming world, weight watchers, calorie counting, atkins, cabbage soup...the list goes on.

But I guess I should just focus on the good old - less calories consumed, more calories burnt.

I do very, very little exercise. Yesterday I was knackered just doing some housework. It disgusts me, but I just can't seem to get motivated to do something about it? I guess Im in a rut and need to haul myself out.

Weight this morning is 254.5lbs.

Oh also, I know I don't drink anywhere near enough liquids. So I must force myself to drink my 2 litres a day.
