Sleep?

How do you sleep?

I am concerned that I am pulling on my R.Cuffs by sleeping in a hunched up foetus position.

I cannot relax in any other position though!

# The Foetus: Those who curl up in the foetus position are described as tough on the outside but sensitive at heart. They may be shy when they first meet somebody, but soon relax.

This is the most common sleeping position, adopted by 41% of the 1,000 people who took part in the survey. More than twice as many women as men tend to adopt this position.

Nothing to do with rotator cuffs but thought i'd show everyone how sensitive you really are :p

well when i sleep in the fetus( not foetus lol) position too but i put a pillow roll under my neck and between my knees that seems to help keep the spine in a better poistion. uaually i pile pillows on each side of my body and tuck them under each side and throw a leg over one side, comfy but probly not so good for any of my body parts. lol. the fetus position probly just makes you feel safe. try pillows to lift the strain off your bod. might work

wow I never really thought about it. I get to sleep by lieing down straight on my side or back, then I end up half way down the bed in the strangest positions possible

Sleep is pretty damn important for growing kids. 8 hours minimum. If you maximize your growth during this time, stay active and play a lot of sports like basketball, track, swimming, etc.

My suggestion for the rotator cuff thing is to sleep with a thicker pillow. This will balance out the weight so your head as well as torso isn't weighing down your shoulder.

Either that or teach yourself to move around when you sleep so you're never at one spot too long.

I move around a lot when I sleep, so I guess I have all those personality traits, huh?

Bryn, you get a lot of **** from MSN, don't you? I read a lot of MSN's stuff with the whole "signs she's into you" and "how sleeping shows who you are"...or whatever. Maybe not msn, but some similar thing.

MSN? never use it. I just happened to have remebered that news article when I read cannavaro's post.

Hmmmm, there must be some common connection...I remember reading all that ish before.

But back to the sleep issue,

"Sleep is the best meditation." -Dalai Lama

yep sleep is deffinately needed for growth. I shouldn't really be saying that seeing as I got about 6 hours of sleep last night and last week I got 4 on a day ;)

haha Jen

thanks tnuac i'll remember u when i am awake all night again tonight, now i'll stress about not sleeping, but wait i am grown, lmao so it doesn't matter then. the life of a medic is never filled with too much sleep anyway!;(

How much sleep do you actualy get Jenn? Try tiring yourself out about 2-3hours before you go to sleep (so your metabolism has chance to slow down..i think). I've found that if I can't get to sleep for about an hour, the more I try the less it works. That made me go to bed later as to not waste time stressing out about sleeping.

Idk, maybe there's not cure for insomnia, I'm no doctor. If you keep your eyes closed for 30 minutes does it still make you stay awake?

oh i have tried just about everything i can think of. i average anywhere from 2 to 4 hours on a bad night and on occassion i get 6hrs. though it isn't straight thru. but its the nature of the beast i guess. kids and now being a paramedic, you never get to sleep long without the wake up tones. i do ok usually but lately i feel worn out. i lay in bed for atleast 1 hr before i finally drift off. i find thunderstorms help me sleep better so i think i'm getting one of those cd's and give it a try.

I've never really had a constant problem with sleeping. Especially now. I've slept just about on every surface is just about any position you can go limp in at any given time. You could say I'm like a sleeping machine...

But during school days, I've been known to sleep in two four hour bursts- one at night and one in the afternoon/evenings...ah...reminicing about sleep...

Make your workout a little more tiring and then see what happens. IMO
