Skyler's new diary

Hey Skyler! Just checking in on you. Sorry yesterday was so rough. I guess more or less look at it as a lesson learned, what your body likes you to eat now! How far you've come! :) DON'T beat yourself up over it, because you can't take it away or undo whats been done! ;) So like you've done gone grocery shoppin for some good veggies etc, upward and onward right? :D You'll be on to that ellipitical again in no time. But do take it easy, your body may need to recover a bit. ;) You will get there!!

btw, all that wedding planning sounds like a blast!! :) Minus.. the tummy overload. ;) I def. am narrowing down on our stuff, so its a great deal of fun. :) Enjoy it..

Hi, Skyler,

I hope you're starting to feel better! Take it easy on yourself and let yourself recover. You'll be fine! Now you know what your body cannot handle! Is not it great that your body adjusts to the healthy way of living, and now has low tolerance for lots of unhealthy stuff? That makes it easier to eat healthy all the time!

YES. The more the day has gone on and the more reflecting i have done, i think it is really interesting and GOOD the way my body reacted to all that unhealthy and overload behavior. Granted, it took me all day to feel mostly better. I can say it is 9pm and i am still not 100%. Lesson learned, absolutely. i have been 'good' when i am by myself and also when i am with my FH, but apparently,i need to learn some different "control" and how to say "no" in other social atmospheres where i used to just 'let go', apparently. Nobody else seemed to think it was odd that i was overloaded and sick (other than FH) which means i need to instill my new behaviors and food intakes to ALL surroundings - not just work, home and a few others...

thanks guys. i really felt terrible (mentally) this morning and instead of beating myself up (all day ;)), yall really helped me see the positive of the saturday disaster.

much appreciated.
S

I'm glad you are able to just see lessoned learn and not torment yourself over it! :)

One other thing that might brighten your perspective, was when I read what your "over doing it" behavior was, I was kind of surprised how little you described!! My binges were so much more severe than yours. So be proud you are not as bad off as some. ;)

thanks NL. it is sunday and i still feel YUCKY!! lesson learned, yes. i'm going to hit the elliptical later today and hope for some relief ;).

no work today so that is great!

Wow! I think you, me, and gonnabe2cute all got the same sickness this weekend! Too much of the fattening stuff! I woke up in the middle of the night last night sicker than a dog and I'm still feeling it. I noticed Gonnab had the same problem! I doubt I'll be eating much today as my stomach is in knots! :(
So anyway, this will not stall your progress at all. If anything, it might help you jump start a little more. First of all, your body got a good dose of the junk and it rejected it... that's great! Second of all, when you start my diet this week, you'll be going from all that junk to a very clean diet so you'll probably drop a couple pounds right off. Just realize that with all that alcohol and salt you had, you may be weighing a little heavy on the scale for a few days so take the number lightly and drink plenty of water. :)

that's what i 'm counting on!!!! i am really glad (as bad as i felt) with the effects of all the fatty food/alcohol...and hopefully will get rewarded for getting back on track.

I got up this morning at 5.30am and did an hour on elliptical (boy is it harder in the morning when you are used to the evening) and already have 32 oz of water down (yeah!). Went to the grocery store and am bringing food STOCKED for the next four days...hard boiled eggs, tuna, yogurt, crackers, apples ;)...dinners will be some lite protein (fish or something) and veggies only...and more more more water!

thanks again guys!

Way to go Skyler! You are kicking some ass! :D Keep it up! You are so motivated. I think I am even tempted to try Paula's diet. I might start on the next grocery shoppin trip I take! I can't wait to hear how it works for you. :) You're def. inspiring me!

i hope all this inspiration and good efforts helps me lose!!!!!! and all of you to your goals as well...

I brought a big bag of food to work with me......going to go to GNC during a break and see about the protein shake...

the harder part will be at night, but i think as long as i stick to protein & veggie and water, i should be okay -- paula?? (what a savior, she is!)

Thanks for the positive vibes...it was a learning experience this weekend for sure!

Man, I might just have to market my diet and write a book! ;)

Sounds like you're feeling better Skyler. Let me know how the diet works for you and if you have any problems with it at all. :)

hey skyler!

Count me in as having the tummy blues. I messed up last THURSDAY and just NOW feeling better! I am glad that my body reacted the way it did too, but the weight gain just made me MAD! I STILL havent lost it! Am hoping for a really postive scale number on weigh in Friday.

I noticed too that if its a piece of bday cake or something similiar, Im usually fine. But if its sausages ,fried foods and mixed drinks, UGH UGH UGH! on how I feel! Oh well...we live we learn and we eventually lose!

Skyler, just a side note here, I couldn't find the protein powder at GNC, BUT I did find it at Walmart! ;)

you must have read my mind b/c i am going to go look at our local GNC across the street and see what they have!

I had quite a few of those binges last weekend, so can totally relate. Luckily I was able to resist alchohol, had only one glass of wine. For that I got stuck with driving home, as my husband had a lot more. :) I could not resist dessert though, it was havenly, but my body did not like me overeating that much. Not only my stomack HURTS from having overeaten, I feel really crappy the next day. I'm pretty happy about that though... I can't believe that it took only a month and a half for my body to ajust to smaller meals and portions, that bigger meals are now not tolerated at all! I now really have to watch myself when I eat out - and get this - not because I don't want to gain weight, but so that I don't feel crappy the next day! Is not it wonderful! Gives me great motivation to eat moderately. Nothing like physical pain to discaurage from over-indulging. :) All in all, this kind of reaction is what will help us in the future to keep the figures we all worked so hard to get! Because it is very easy to keep making the choices that make us feel good, not the ones that make us feel bad.

well, no luck here. went to GNC and their shelves were barely stocked...no six starr protein powder. i did look at the other protein supplements and they all had 100-270 (WOW!) calories per scoop so I opted out. I guess I'll try "Paula's Diet" (which i am hoping to be living proof, when you write your book) w/o the protein for now. I may look online as (shocking as it is) there is no walmart really close to me. I wonder b/c my dinners will have more protein (chicken breast/piece of fish vs. 1/2 cup of cottage cheese) then maybe i dont need the powder? hmm. however, i do have trouble with eating every 3 hrs and it would be an easy way to do so...

now i am rambling, sorry!

so far today:
elliptical - 60 minutes
40 oz water
2 hard boiled eggs & dannon smoothie (carb control - 60 calories - not much flavor in these - not highly recommended but i bought the 4 pack & i'm eatin' 'em this week!)
1 can (6oz water packed) tuna - dry
19 mini stone wheat crackers (130 cal, 22 carbs)

thinking..apple as snack, more more more water & then i know we have tilapia and veggies at home for dinner..

tonight i have class (certifying to become dog trainer) from 6.30 to 9ish, so i'll be moving around but no weight training today. oops.

i guess i will do upper & lower body tomorrow ;)
