Sit-ups question...

i just really started to notice that when im doing sit-ups in any kind, i seem to feel a lot more of a burn if i dont go all the way back down... is it because this is how your really supposed to do it?

for the longest time i remember doing situps where when i went down, i placed my head right back on the floor, but now its like if i dont go all the way down, it feels like its way harder and way more intense:confused:

its because when you lay flat down you deactivate your abs, they dont work that split sec you are laying down. if you dont lay down your abs have to hold you up all the time, thats why.
dont ask me whats the best though, i dont do situps :p

Karky is right. By going all the way down, your muscles are relaxing.

It's the difference between going to crap every 3 hours and every second. It's harder and you feel it more.

though, if you do it all the way down you get to completley stretch your abs out before you start the next rep, so i dunno what is more effective, like i said, i dont do situps :p

a great thing to do is get on a decline ab bench and do full range situps, but instead of putting your arms on your chest or head, get a long stick of somekind and put it behind your head (like the bar when you do squats) and do them. It stretches your abs out like crazy. Tell me your abs don't hurt the next day...
