- 30 minutes on elliptical
- 10 minutes on stationary bike
- Jogged 2 miles
- 20x3 lunges
- 30x3 jumping jacks
- 20x3 leg raises
*60 seconds of jump-rope*
- 30x3 crunches with 10lbs
- 20x3 mountain climbers
- 3 30-second planks
*60 seconds of jump-rope*
- 20x3 squats with 10lbs
- 20x3 push-ups
- 15x3 burpees
*60 seconds of jump-rope*

So my work out started really slow today. My left calf was feeling reallyyyy tight. I'm pretty sure it was from the 90 minutes I spent on the crosstrainer and elliptical yesterday. I won't lie, by the end of my 8-hour shift I was limping.

I spent a good 10 minutes stretching before I got on the elliptical but I didn't push myself 110% like I usually do. I feel like I kind of babied myself. I was just worried about pulling something in my leg and then not being able to workout at all, you know? SOO I was kind of all blahhhhh because I feel like I wasn't pushing myself that hard. But then I came home and did my circuits. Oh man….now those KILLED me. Omg the jump rope…oh how I hate you. The circuit part of my workout was just amazing and completely made up for the slow beginning workout at the gym. So overall AMAZING workout. I'm timing my circuits and my goal is to shave just like 10-15 seconds every time I do them. I added some weights to the exercises.

OH I found a protein shake I like!!!!!! I cannot believe it!!! I have NEVER found a protein shake I like. Sooo happy!!! My protein intake has been pretty low as of late so this will really help meet my goal and cut down on some of the carbs.

My mom is a vegetarian and she doesn't really like us eating meat so that's why I can't really get all that protein out of actual food and I'm stuck using protein shakes.

Last thing…I love the fact that my sister is working out with me. I've always worked out by myself before but my sister wants to get into shape. She's taller than I am (5'8) and she's not even fat or overweight. She just wants that flat/toned stomach. So at times I hate her because she's all skinny lol but I love her to death. It just totally helps when I'm jump roping and I'm dying and I think I can't do it anymore and she's right there by my side going, "You can do it Jes! You got this! Just envision the skinny fit you by the end of the 60 seconds! Imagine you'll be 5lbs lighter! Make jumproping your b****!" Haha I love it and love her <3

Girl! You are just burning UP this stuff! Your work outs and diet are killer! You're doing such a fantastic job sticking to a great diet, and going to the gym! I love your enthusiasm and dedication to working out!! It's nice to see people enjoy it, and look forward to going :)

It's important to take it slow- you don't want to hurt yourself and then be off for a period of time! You're very smart to take it easy and listen to your body! I think it's a hard thing to do, especially when you're so motivated and eager to get up and moving! :)

It's great that your sister works out with you! It's nice to have someone to push you through the periods when you just want to press stop on the treadmill and lay down on the floor, panting heavily, drenched in sweat!! hehe I especially love her tactics!! HAHA! Next time I skip- that's what I'm going to say!!!!! hehehehe

What's this protein shake? I generally stay away from them, as most of them have whey in it, which is a milk protein, and I can't have milk! But I would love to know a good one!

You're doing so great! keep up the fantastic work!

I hope you had a great Valentines! :)

I had work early today so I couldn't work out in the morning. I think I might take a rest day. Today would be my 5th day working out. I'm just feeling really down today due to some things going on in my life. I get off work at 3PM. A part of me just wants to go home, pick up pizza on the way home & have a few slices and go to bed. I haven't been sleeping enough so I'm just tired. The other part is saying to use the sadness as fuel because I know once I'm in the gym, I'll be on fire. Blah.

What do I do?

Hi gohomejes,

Taking a day off can be a good thing. Your body needs rest days to recuperate. The part about picking up a pizza?? I don't know about that-lol. Depending on the pizza I guess but pizza is usually pretty high in fat and calories. I know on my rest days I stay away from the pizza, burgers, fries etc. I guess I feel guilty taking a rest day never mind eating badly as well but that is just me. Keep up the good work!!

AnnaGail: Thanks for the kind words & encouragement! It is very much appreciated. :)

Jill: Heyyyy girl! It's been a few days!! It was definitely super hard to take the time off because I was DYING to go and yes, my sister is awesome. I know I'll say things like that to myself while I'm working out to push myself harder but it helps to have your own personal cheerleader. You can't have milk?!?!?!? I would DIE. I LOVE milk. It's a whey protein =( It's EAS 100% Whey Protein in vanilla flavor. I freaking love it. As always, thanks for the encouragement. You are such a sweetheart! <3

Cowboy: Lol thank you for the advice. I wasn't planning on eating the whole pizza!!! =P I DID have pizza and I have absolutely 0 regrets. I would do it again! I got off work at 3PM. I picked up a veggie pizza. I came home and had 3 slices. I took a 2-hour nap and I went to the gym and killed it.

I feel amazing. I'm so glad I went. I think a lot of it had to do with lack of sleep. I'm not getting enough sleep. I'm sleeping around 4-5 hours and that's just not enough for me. I workout around 2 hours a day and then I work 8-hour shifts where I am on my feet the entire time. No sitting down. It's catching up to me. With some food that I do enjoy in moderation (okay okay I shouldn't have had 3 slices but whatever!) and some sleep, I was good to go. =)

- 30 minutes on elliptical
- 20 minutes on crosstrainer
- Jogged 1 mile
- Circuit (Did this 3 times):
* 30 crunches with 10lbs
**45 seconds of jump-rope**
* 20 lunges
**45 seconds of jump-rope**
* 20 push-ups
**45 seconds of jump-rope**

I am loving the jump rope. Before I would be DYING at 30 seconds or so. I can't stand not doing well at something so if I really struggle with something, I will work on it until I kick ass at it. All together it was 6 minutes and 45 seconds of jump-rope and then I did anther 15 seconds on the last one to make it 7 minutes. It was broken up today but tomorrow I'm going to see if I can hold it until 1 minute and 10 seconds. The longest I've been able to go straight is 60 seconds. I can do it!

Shower and then I'm going to bed. Want to be in the gym early in the AM. Tomorrow will be my 6th in a row and then Thursday is REST DAY! Wooohooo! :)

Great job on your morning workouts and the gym!! It's great that you are holding yourself accountable instead of a trainer this go around. :D! ;)

You go girl! I think I used to see you around here before! I just don't really recognize the new pic though, so I can't tell if it was you or not.

Regardless, your workouts are THE SHIT!! :D!!

I am loving the jump rope. Before I would be DYING at 30 seconds or so. I can't stand not doing well at something so if I really struggle with something

TOTALLY me and my feelings towards jump rope...I HATE it because I'm sooooo bad at it! (I blame it on coordination, but it's more my stamina!!!!)...

I will work on it until I kick ass at it.

Ahh, not so much me...BUT...it should be! I LOVE that you're so determined! It makes me realize that I should kick the ropes ass, and not let it kick mine!

I will have a jump rope challenge with you! By Feb 2, lets see who can jump rope the longest (1.5 mins jumping, 30 sec breaks?)!

Alta: Thank you!!! I remember you. You were always incredibly motivational and always such a sweetheart! <3

Jill: I LOVE that idea! You are sooooooooo encouraging!!! You're on!!!

- Rest day

Eating was okay. I reallyyyyyyyyy wanted a burrito from Chipotle so I had cereal in the morning for breakfast. My lunch was an apple and a banana. Around 5PM I was at ~570 calories for the day. Then I had my burrito, which I looked forward to allll day long. It was around ~1000 calories. I know, I know. Horrible way of spacing out my food for the day but damnit I wanted that burrito. =P

- 30 minutes on elliptical
- 20 minutes on crosstrainer
- 15 minutes of jumprope

I was feeling really laggy at the gym today. Boo. Going to go for a 4-5 mile run later on tonight.

I am sooo behind on journals. The past few days it's literally wake up, gym, work, come home & sleep then repeat. But I have today off! I'm going to go jump in the shower and then I'm going to get comfy on the couch and catch up =) <3

Oh yeah, I was not getting enough fruit in my diet and I've worked it into my food plan really well. But what happened to my veggies?! My goal for the next week is MORE veggies!!!

LOL! Love the veggie goal! And you know what, sometimes you have to treat yourself to a 1000cal burrito!! LOL ...I'm drooling right now!

Ok...hold up...you're already at 15 mins of jumprope? ...dear. lord. My butt is going to get KICKED!!

Tomorrow I am jumping rope till I can no longer lift my legs!!!!

Great job on your work out! You seem like a very busy person! Perhaps you feeling laggy at the gym is because you're tiring yourself out from all the other stuff you're doing! Take care of yourself!

What do you have planned for the weekend!? Regardless, I hope you have a wonderful time!

Heyyy Jill,
Yeah I'm reaching 15 minutes but don't worry. It's NOT continuous. I'll go for like 90 seconds and then rest for 15-30 seconds. I'm pushing myself though because it gets my heartrate up and it's a challenge. I love challenges.

Life is busy. I usually get up around 5AMish and in the gym by 5:15AM-5:30AM. I'm in the gym for 60-90 minutes and then come home and do some jumprope or run around my neighborhood. Then an hour or so to get ready for work and pack my meals for the day. Then I work all day long. After work someone always wants to go hang out or something. I just want to come home and crash but then I'll go out and not get home until midnight or so. There just aren't enough hours in the day!!!

This weekend I'm just working. Saturday and Sunday I work from 11AM-8PM. On the weekends the gym doesn't open until 7AM. Booooo. So that means I'll run around my neighborhood and jumprope before the gym and be in the gym by 7AM. After work I know I'm just going to be pooped. Nothing fun planned this weekend!

I'm feeling a bit down. I weighed myself today and I'm at 175lbs. That means I gained a pound in the past week. I know weight fluctuates so I'm not too upset. Just a little sad. I KNOW I'm losing weight. I wish I had measured myself because I KNOW I'm dropping inches like no tomorrow. I bought this pair of jeans like last year and it never fit so it literally has been hanging in my closet. I tried it on about 2 weeks ago and THEY FIT!!!!! And now? They're loose!!!! I need a belt. Then the other pairs of jeans I used to wear regularly? They are falling off of me. My clothes are way loose. I KNOW I've lost inches. It just really sucks when that damn number on the scale doesn't reflect it.

My sister's sick. She has a staph infection. We're pretty sure she got it from the gym. It's pretty bad so she hasn't been working out with me. I miss my sister. She's the best cheerleader ever. I know she's in a lot of pain and I hate seeing her in pain and crying. It makes me so sad. I really hope she gets better soon because I want my workout buddy back. Heck, I just want my super talkative, active sister back.

I love this forum. Jill…you are so motivational. I also learn a lot from reading others diaries and seeing what is working for them. I KNOW I have the workout part down. So it has to be my diet. I know a few days I was at 1800-1900 calories. From reading Kelly's diary it seems like her diet is a lot of veggies and fruits and that's where her carbs are coming from so I'm going to cut down on my starchy carbs.

GOALS FOR THIS WEEK:
- More veggies
- Less starchy carbs
- Calorie intake must remain between 1400-1600.

I came to the forum tonight really down but just reading around, I feel so much better. I can't wait to get in the gym tomorrow and kick some butt. Eating will be perfect tomorrow because I say it is!

My arms are getting toned. I love it.

- 30 minutes on elliptical
- 20 minutes on stairmaster

I really had no desire to wake up this morning and go to gym. Reallyyyyy had to push myself. But I had absolutely no reason not to get up. I was asleep by 10PMish so I got a good 8 hours. That's plenty of sleep! Kinda got in to the gym late so I didn't get much done. I'll have to do circuits and jumprope tonight when I get home from work. I feel like today and yesterday's workout was way too weak.

It needs to stop raining!!! I love rain but damnit it's interfering with my running. Today is supposed to be the last day so hopefully I'll get some miles in there starting tomorrow.

Time to get ready for work.

Girl! You are workin' it!! I don't think I could be motivated enough to get up at that time! 6am is the earliest I can do! LOL you are so busy! I honestly don't know how you do it! you're amazing! To get up that early, do that kind of workout, and then go into work for that long- oh boy! That's insane!

your workouts are killer! And your jumprope- oh boy. You're rockin' it! I gotta get my butt in gear!! I've been doing 30 on/off and I think I can move up to a minute on, 30 sec off! next time I'm in, I'm going to push myself to do that for at least 5 minutes, if not 10! Pushing yourself is the only way you know if you can do it- right?! :)

You are doing such a fabulous job! And your arms are looking majah hot!! I WISH my arms look like that! They're amazing! And you can see that they're getting toned! Keeping up with the jump rope, the circut and those pushups- and you'll be packing major guns in no time!!

Great work this week- and I love your weekly goals!

Also, thanks for all the kind words- I know I always say this, but your support makes a difference! I would have sat on my butt all day sat, if you hadn't posted what you did! Got me up and moving! And I totally rocked it! So thank you!! :)

Have a great monday chica!!

Kelly: You're super inspirational! I had to mention you :)

Jill: I have to motivate myself to get in the gym early. Otherwise I know I'm going to be too tired to go after work so then I won't go at all and then I'll be annoyed with myself. That's what motivates me =P Pushing yourself is exactly it. When I'm jumproping or something and I'm thinking "Omg I can't do this, I'm going to die!" I can just hear my trainer (when I had one), Jared, telling me in a really calm voice, "No Jes, you're not going to die. Just push yourself a little harder. You're almost there. You can do it!" So pretty much just knowing I won't die pushes me to go harder =P Thank YOU for all your support and encouragement. It also makes a difference. I'm glad I can help! <3

Food for 02/21/11

I was kind of down on myself because since the 1st I'm only down 4lbs and the month ends in a week. The most I can lose in this week is 2lbs so that would only put me at 6lbs loss for the month but then I looked at it and we're only at 21 days (3 weeks). February is shorter than other months. If I finish at a 6lb loss I'll have averaged 1 1/2lbs for each week. That's not bad at all. I can't get down. I will not. This is better than gaining 4lbs, right??

My throat feels like crap. I'm super congested. I'm going to load up on oranges today and gargle with warm salt water. It's just a cold because other than that I feel completely fine.

I am sooooooo filled with energy this morning. I feel like bouncing off the walls! I'm off for the next 2 days so I got to sleep in this morning. I'm going to have a light breakfast and head to the gym. I'm going to KILL it today. I can feel it!!! Elliptical, crosstrainer, jogging, jumprope, and a small circuit is my goal today. LETS DO THIS!

Sunflower: Aww thank you!

I had an absolutely amazing workout. I just killed it. I LOVED IT. I had soooooo much energy this morning. I didn't go to the gym last night (boo). I fell asleep super early. I slept a good 9 hours. I woke up very well rested and just bursting with energy. Ahhh I wish I had workouts like this every morning!

I think the run was my favorite part. It's freaking gorgeous outside. A little windy but still beautiful. I loved it. Running against the wind is a bit more challenging lol

I still have ~793 calories left for the rest of the day. I'm about to have some raw broccoli and carrots with fat-free ranch for my lunch. I will eat healthy for the rest of the day!

On the 18th, I was at 175lbs. Today I weighed myself and I'm at 172lbs!!! -3lbs. WOOOHOOO!!!! It was SUCH a nice surprise but I seriously busted my ass yesterday and I ate really well. It's so rewarding. So now I have 6 days until the 1st. I'm aiming for 2 more lbs! I CAN DO IT!!!

Ahhhh this got me really excited =) I'm so happy!

I have a ton of errands to run today so I won't be able to get into the gym until the afternoon but that's okay. I CAN'T WAIT FOR MY WORKOUT. Hoping to get another killer workout in there today.
