I posted this in the new comers thread, but I saw this thread and figured I should start it here as well.
Basically I made this just to help keep me in track and hopefully some people can help boost my confidence. My situation is that I want to join the armed forces, but my problem is that I weigh to much. I currently weigh 270lbs (and I am 6'0"). When I was 17 I was 5' 10" and 252lbs and knew I needed to make a change, so I moved to florida and began to go to the gym and walk on the tread mill. In about 7 months and off and on working out I lost 60lbs and when I turned 18 I was 198lbs and 3 lbs away from enlistment and going off to bootcamp, but I chickened out and didn't go. Now after 2 years I have decided I am going to join because I am sick of not doing what I want to do.
Before I list what I am doing to change my weight, here is a little bit about me and where I came from. I was born in Rochester, Minnesota. I lived in MN until I was 8 months, and then moved to Oregon until I was 8 years old, then moved to Arkansas untill I was 11 and where my parents split up, then onto Texas, to New Jersey, and finally Florida. The reason I moved so much was because my father was in the Bureau of Prisons as a Safty Manager. Currently I am going to college to get my journeymans license in the electrical field. I work as an electrician's apprentice and I live with my fiance.
What I am doing to lose weight is a diet of course along with exercise. I was talking to an ex marine and he told me to start out wearing a backpack with 40lbs in it and walking a mile everynight, so far I have done it 3 times in 2 weeks, but he also told me to progress to 90lbs and the get to jogging 5 miles. This is what i want to do starting the 1st of october.
~weekdays~
4:30am-wake up, stretch, and work out till
6:00am-end work out and head home and take a shower
7:00am-be at work
3:30pm-work ends, go home and rest
5:00pm-go hiking with backpack (40lbs still)
7:30pm-be home and take shower
9:00pm-Stretch and then go to bed
~weekends~
Basically the same but no work lol.
I will be weighing myself every Sunday morning and I will post my progress. (and possibly pics)
If you have read this whole post I thank you and deeply appreciate it. What would really help me is your support and advice to help me on my way to doing what I have always wanted to do.
