Shed fat, tone up

Looking for good advice on how to shed excess bodyfat(its only around my gut/love handles) and tone up my muscles.

Im 6'0, 162 lbs. I am still light, and not fat by any means, but I have excess bodyfat around my gut/hips which needs to go to show off the abs for the summer. Looking to do this quickly btw(if possible).

Other thing I should mention, is I dont want to lose muscle/strength, its fine if I stay where I am so that I can pickup where I left off afterwards.

Any advice on how I should go about this?
 
standard split workout routine. clean diet. prolly around 2000 cals a day.
200 grams of protein aday, and cardio on ur off days.

Its starts with the DIET Number one, and then the diet compliments the workouts (and in reverse: Workouts compliment the diet). Read on the law of energy balances (calorie balance).
