I guess I should get my diary started huh?

Me: Sarah, 27 yo female from PA. Seeking 135 is my user name because 135 is my target weight.

First things first, I should answer the questions in the top post:

-- How much weight do you want to lose?

100 lbs total. 4 of those are already gone.

-- What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight?

I'd like to reach 135 by Feb. 14, 2008. I just started on Feb. 22, so I've given myself about a year. However, if I don't reach my target weight by then, it's all good. It took 6 years to put this weight on and if it takes 6 years to take it off, so be it. As long as it comes off!

-- How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)?

Well, I know I do not want to go on a "diet". I want to change my entire lifestyle. I want to find of way of living healthy that I can do for the rest of my life. I want to become a "health nut".

I'm thinking of going the GI way, but I need to do some more reading on it to fully understand it.

Changes I have already begun making include: No more soda. Getting off of my butt. For now it is the stair stepper 60 minutes a day. I'm hoping to gradually add in more activities. I'm not a calorie counter, never been good at it. Instead I'm just eating more "real" foods. No more processed, out of a box or from a drive through kind of foods. Most white is out, whole wheat is in. Lots of raw veggies and fruits. I need to increase my protein intake. Other than that, I don't really have a food "game plan".

-- Who or what can support you in reaching your goal?

I think I am going to lean on this board a lot for support. I've tried getting others around me to join the weight loss battle, but they just don't seem to be ready to face reality yet. I'd love to have a real life weight loss buddy, but no one seems to be able to "get in the zone" like I am right now. Whereas the folks here seem to be ready to make that change. I like the support I have already gotten here in just 24 hours. It's giving me a boost!

-- How realistic is your goal?

I'd say it is very realistic. According to my fitday account I only have to lose 1.9 pounds a week. That's not easy, but it is doable.

-- When will you start?

I started Feb. 22, 2007

You have already taken the first step by deciding to change bad eating habits, and following through with this decision will ultimately lead to a change in lifestyle. Stay strong and have fun with it! Good luck!!!
