Sculpting

Hi people,

Im posting here to get an answer to somthing i was told was correct..


In the begining - i was just liftign as much as i could thinking it would build muscle and give my arms a big and nice form

well a few days ago my gym teacher told me that i shouldnt be doign that if i really want to get my muscles bigger here is what i used to do --

Before:
-10 Curls with 40lbs total 3 sets
-10 little bar that you pull down(forgot name :S) 60 lbs 3 sets

What he said to do:
- As many curls as i can but with half the weight, when my muscles start tinlging and burning to do 5 more with all my power. wait about 10 minutes and repeat with 3 sets in total. same thing with the bar.

i jsut want to make sure that he is telling me the right thing because i really dont care about how strong i will be afterwards, i just want some big guns :D

is doing less weight but more reps better for
sculpting?
