SCIONIC-BREEZE's weight loss journey

I've finally had enough!! The first week of January I quit the BS and started a weight loss plan. I'm just a little over a month in, so I thought I'd start one of these journals to track my progress for a little encouragment. I can already start to see a difference, and I'm down a pant size already --- from 16 to 14's --- and the 14's are starting to get a little loose on me now too! My goal is 135, 51 lbs total. I'm 5'6", so this will put me in the middle of my target weight zone for that height.

I didn't take pictures when I started - although I meant to. Here's a couple of pictures from this summer than my sister snapped. I'm 186 in these pictures.

And now for the pictures I snapped today weighing in at 171.0 lbs!

I can see a change in my neck and waist in the pictures. I really hate my arms, and hope to see some change in them this month!!! :leaving:

Another 5 lbs lost since this post. This past weekend was a difficult one --- what with Valentine's Day and all. I'm trying to keep strong but food can be sooooo temping :(

Caffeine

I used to drink 1000-1500 calories a day JUST in soda - mainly Mt Dew. I injested a lot of caffeine because of this, and I didn't realize just how addicted I was to caffeine until recently. It's been nearly 2 months on my diet plan, working to get healthy. I feel tired, even though I've gotten a good night's sleep. The other day I was SO tired I couldn't stand it, so I got a 16oz Vanilla cuppicinio at Circle K. After drinking that, I was up on top again - and actually very productive.

So I realize my body is missing the caffeine. I've given up soda completely. Mt Dew is 170 empty calories for a 12oz can, and those add up fast. It's been difficult --- esp since I WORK for PEPSI!! I don't really care for the aftertaste of diet sodas. Pepsi Max was alright, but I'd like to stay away from soda if possible.

So coffee. I don't like plain coffee, waaaaay too bitter. But maybe I could force myself to like it? Someone at work suggested caffeine pills, but I hate swallowing pills. I have enough trouble getting a tiny benedryl down my throat & caffeine pills aren't exactly small IMO.

So, do I keep dealing with the tireness? It's actually making me feel like I don't want to stick to my exercise routine & that's not a good thing. With a cup of joe in my system, I'm ready to go from 5 - 10pm.

I switched colleges in November & my break is finally over. I have orientation tonight, so I know I'll be reverting to some sort of caffeine tonight so my mind is active. I hate drinking the cappicinos --- wasted calories & they're high in fat, as well.

I dunno what to do :ack2:

I'm going through the same thing. I started weening myself off soda the past month or so then the last few weeks went competely off. Unfortunately I didn't notice at first my tea bags are decaf, lol. But I've been drinking ice tea like it's going out of style and that's helped me fight the tiredness. Also there's sugar free flavored syrups you can put in coffee to help if you want to go that route. I like flavored coffee once in a great while but I can't drink it every day.
