Hey Everyone! I posted in this forum a long time ago, back in June. And it's funny to think that I wanted to badly to be an "after" or at least a really good "During".
I was at an all time high weight last winter, so much that I tried out for The Biggest Loser, and went pretty far in the casting process. I didn't make it the cut right before sequester started, and was left wondering what to do now.
Along with some other "rejects" of BL, I started a weight loss group where we promised to set aside the excuses and really lose the weight this time. It worked! Through support, encouragement, and a kick in the pants when needed, the members of my group lost over 1100 pounds in 9 months, and we will be featured in an upcoming issue of Fitness Magazine!
I'm so proud of the work we have done, and the people we have been able to also empower, who once thought that a weight loss reality show was their golden ticket to weight loss.
As the group leader, I'm working hard to get the last bit of weight off (I'd like to lose another 25), so I can be the best example I can.
It has inspired me to continue my education, and I'm in the process of obtaining certification for personal training and sports nutrition.
It still floors me.. what people are capable of achieving when they come together and work for a common goal. I can't wait to see what 2008 brings!
Best of luck to anyone currently on your weight loss journey, and congrats to those who are celebrating a victory!
