Safe to play b-ball after weights?

Alright, well today was a pretty good day, except for the fact that I failed my mathematics test...

Anyways, I hit the weights, for about 45 minutes.

Then I went to just simply practice some shots. But then these guys called me over to play, and we played for about.....50 minutes. So I was wondering, is it okay for me to do this after weights?

PS- OMFG I JUST REALIZED WE GOTS NEW SMILIES!!!!! XD

Weight lifting is more effective without it.

If you do cardio, it is better to do this at a separate time from weights.

With that said, I play basketball after lifting all the time. It's not ideal, but it's not going to be a huge impact either. I'd sip on a protein shake, drink gatorade, etc if you're playing for an extended period of time if your goal isn't weight loss. Try to keep up an energy source so that you're not burning any muscle.

Basketball isn't a horrible way of getting cardio if you're lifting weights however since it involves sprinting and short durations of high intensity. Certainly better than long distance running/jogging or any other long duration/low intensity cardio.
