Ryan's Fight Club Diet Journal

Hi Ryan!! Fantastic progress thus far!! Water was key for me in the begining too, it helped learn when I was hungry or just thirsty. I thought I was going to float away those first few weeks!..lol

I reward myself too... at first it was with food but I realised that with that attitude I could justify anything as a 'reward'. So now I celebrate with a movie or some new clothes.

Keep up the great work, you're doing fantastic!! :D:D:D

I've been drinking a lot of water as well. I usually pound down the diet pepsi's but I've been doing good. Great job at staying away from sugar! I've found alternatives for a lot of things that I crave...but sugar free...things like wafer cookies and life savers. After awhile, the sugar free stuff actually starts to taste better :p
Keep it up! You're doing great! :D

Day 4 Begins.......

Funny moment:
I woke up this morning and instantly thought, "I need some caffeine to wake up!" Then, four seconds later, I realized what I had just said.
I'm at home today, no work.
Will do some of the mundane chores we all have to do in life.
Have thrown out the bad stuff, both in liquid and solid form, so no temptation should be had.
I live 20 minutes from town, so I have the added advantage of being isolated (in a good way).
Gonna stretch and pound some water to start the day.
Thanks for those who have chimed in thus far.
Hope you all have a great day!

DAY FIVE:
Good Morning.
Light snow is falling here in the high country.
Guess what?
I've lost 2 pounds!
In five days, the drastic, 180 degree turns I've taken with my lifestyle have confirmed I am on the right path.
No soda, no red meat, no sweets of any kind, and no fried food for five days.
Again, the theme I have already discovered in this journal is that:
I ENJOY THE CLEAN FEELING INSIDE MY BODY.
I started Day ONE at 226 pounds. I am now at 224.
I am going to take this momentum into the weekend.
I have to because I have been invited out for pizza and beer with friends tonight, along with an invitation to the ESPN Zone on Sunday for NFL Football and lots of appetizers loaded with grease.
I've got my plan ready: Water for drinking when I go out. Salad for food.

WOW! That is FABULOUS!!!!!! :D:D:D Congrats!

You're doing great!

Glad you have a plan in order tonight! Have fun :) We're all behind you and you CAN do it!!!!

Ah, Ryan, well done! I've got a big grin on my face reading that you're starting to see results! Congratulations on your willpower!!

Hey Ryan,
Congrats on the 2 pounds GONE and good for you for starting the weekend out with a PLAN!

I know I do much better when I plan ahead :)

Heya's Ryan,
Congrats on losing 2lbs that's awesome for
not even a week yet! Your doing a gr8 job(*high 5's*)!
Have a gr8 weekend,Tammy:D

Day 7

Has it already been one week? Sure enough, it has!

Made it through a very tempting weekend! On Friday night, I avoided Pizza and beer. I had a tuna chef salad with only a splash of low fat ranch dressing. Drank lots of water. Beer, hard liquor, and the usual staples surrounded me, but I am in the GOOD zone now!
I have exercised a good amount this weekend, but not as much as the first five days. However, I kept active and DID workout, so I have nothing to complain about. I ate a healthy breakfast and did not have anything remotely unhealthy today. I am craving...........water. Yes, I said it. It is hilarious (and actually scary) that during football games you see two things:
1: Beer Ads followed by Car commercials and 2: Pizza and fast food ads ALL DAY LONG! I was already aware of it, but it was amplified today. Oh well.
Alongside the daily stretching, I am also doing push ups, jumping jacks, and whatever type of cardio exercise I think of.
I am sitting here reflecting upon the fact that one week ago right around this time, I was feeling like sh$t and decided to change my ways.
One week later, I'm sitting here again and I'll tell you this:
I feel better, stronger, and cleaner.
And, oh yes, I'm dropping weight.
Happy Holidays, indeed, my friends!

Congrats on surviving the weekend avoiding all of those bad things :D
It's good to hear you're feeling much better now!
Keep it up, Ryan!

You're right!
A week can make a HUGE difference!
The CLEAN feeling I continue to talk about is energizing!
Just got back from the gym. Ate well today.
Gonna pound some more water. Bought all healthy items at the grocery store today. It seemed every other item for sale were either HOLIDAY cookies or HOLIDAY candy or HOLIDAY whatever! Made it out without temptation.
Ready for more results! They will come. I just have to be patient. However............if you will..............Success........................I can taste it now. It tastes delicious! And, it has NO CALORIES whatsoever. Go figure!

Mmm fat free, calorie free success... better than any cookie I've ever eaten. ;)
I love your attitude!!! :D:D:D

Yeah! You're doing great! Looks like you're getting the whole positive feedback loop of success, where you can resist all the unhealthy stuff because you want to keep succeeding. Very impressive stuff!

How do I say this?

I'm sure this is a given for you if you've changed your eating habits drastically.
How do I say this?
I have found that my digestive system is.....flowing better.
I hope that doesn't sound gross.
Simply, with drastically improved eating habits and exercise, my digestive track is feeling better than before.
what else.......
I've just been invited to 2 Holiday Parties in one day.
December 16 and December 20.
We'll cross that bridge when we get there.

For today, though, DAY NINE, I'm feeling good.
Had a very good and extremely low fat breakfast and have been pounding water.
Am not motivated to work out today, but a little turn up in volume from my trusty ipod can help change that around.
Did some stretching today.
Feeling.......neutral today. Which is fine. I won't be SuperMan everyday.
Nine days in, still NO red meat, sodas, sweets of any kind, refined sugar, or fried food.
Excuse the repetition, but WRITING THIS REPEATEDLY confirms I am on the right track.
Thank you for reading. Your comments and support mean a lot to a Man in the mountains feeling like this high road up the mountain to success is SLOWLY becoming easier than before.
Like the movie WHAT ABOUT BOB?, sometimes its about baby steps.
Step one, step two!

Wow, you're doing so well! More vegies, more movement and less meat really makes a difference to your digestive system, which in turn makes you feel better. Keep up the good work, I'm sure everyone on here is as impressed as I am!
