OK, so I am a 46 Y O male. I figure that I would dress out at somewhere a little north of four hundo. Since I have no way to weigh myself, I'll just call it an even 400. The weight has adversly affected nearly every facet of my life. I don't want to dwell on that now. I think I am to the point that my desire to change is stronger than my lust for food.

I started yesterday 12-26-06. My plan is to limit my calories to 2000 per day. According to the calorie calculator I need 4000 to maintain current weight so I should be able to lose pretty well for a while on 2000. I also plan to walk daily and drink A gallon of water per day.

My goal is to get down to 225#. This seems almost overwhelming so I will try to not dwell on it but rather take each day one at a time.

I did pretty well yesterday.

Breakfast
2 eggs
2 dry toast

snack-apple

lunch- turkey sandwich

snack- celery

Dinner-sauteed onion, mushrooms & green beans. 3 scrambled eggs.

Total calories: 1215

Walked 1/4 mile. Barely made it home, my lower back hurt so bad. I need to excersize but I'm so fat I can't hardly do anything. Very disgusting!

This is going to be quite an adventure.

Yesterday was another good day.

Breakfast: 1 egg, 1 dry toast, 1 banana 235 cal.

Snack: apple 70

Lunch: tomato soup, tuna sandwich w/mayo 415 cal

Dinner: Chicken noodle soup, banana w/vanilla pudding and cool whip 365 c.

Snack: 1/2 bag lite popcorn 180 c.

Total: 1265

Didn't go for a walk, will try it again today.

you're off to a great start - if you're not already -might i suggest a site like to help you record your food for the day...

Walking is going to take some time to get you where you want to be - but you will get there - start slow and every few days add in a few more minutes of walking... you're going i the right direction...

When i first started -the amount i had to lose was extremely daunting and didn't think i'd ever get close... 9 months later - i'm down a little over 100 lbs... so you will get tehre..

WoW! I think it's great you've started on this life changing journey. We are here to help. 1/4 mle is good start. When I started to walk I could barley do it and I was at 185, so it it's just what we are used to doing. I guess it speaks for itself that I was lazy. I still struggle getting the exercise in. You are off to a great start and you have my best wishes!!!:)

Thanks for all the support and the link. I am going to check it out. I find inspiration in the success stories I see here.

It was kind of funny what happened today. I didn't feel like walking this morning so I took my dogs out to run (I in my golf cart) and my cart quit on me about 1/4 mile away from my house. I had to walk home! So I got my walk after all!

Breakfast:
2 eggs, 2 toast 260 cal

snack:
banana, vanilla pudding, cool whip 300 cal

Dinner
stir fryed venison and vegetables with rice. Not sure the calories but had pretty big plateful.

Snack
1 bag lite popcorn 360 cal

I think(hope) I stayed below 2000 today.

Thanks again for all the encouraging words.

WOOOOHOOOOOOOOO I am so glad that golf cart spell worked hehehehehehe You can do this and you are doing good so leave the golf cart parked from now on hehehehe

Yesterday went well calorie-wise but I didnt do my walk. I think If I can get some weight off with diet, the back muscles will hold up for the walking. I guess I need to just go shorter distances (as though 1/4 mile isn't short) and work my way up.

When I get out of this mess, I can't ever let myself get this way again.

Breakfast:
2 eggs, 2 toast 260 c

Lunch:
small lean venison steak 200

Snack: 1.5 cups bean/ham soup 345c

dinner:
3 cups bean/ham soup 690 c

Total 1495 Calories

WOW, Thats a lot of beans! No wonder my family didn't want to be around me last nite. lol I can't help it, I love homemade bean soup.

Yesterday 12-30-06 day 5

Breakfast: 1 banana 105 cal

lunch: 1 sausage patty 245 cal

Dinner: 3 cups bean soup 690 c

snack: 1/2 McDonalds double cheeseburger 250

Total 1290 cal.

Note: The hunger isn't too bad. I wonder if it is because I am burning fat so the body isn't calling for food or perhaps my stomach has shrunken some? Oh well, either way I'm glad because I cant stand going around feeling hungry all the time. I have had a couple of evenings where I felt lightheaded. Could have been due to the reduced calories.
