Rita's Weight Loss Diary

Hey Rita,

Sorry its been awhile. You are doing so wonderful! I really love the list of all the positive changes you have seen in yourself. Listing the positives is soo much better then lamenting over the negatives!

You're classes sound fun, productive, interesting, and like they can kick some ass! Keep up the great work and get some more food in you. We don't need you getting sick with all that working out your doing :)

Hey Rita,

wanted to congratulate you with the 21.5 lbs loss. (I'm counting your highest weight in May, because that's something to definitely be proud of. :D) As for the kickboxing classes... Oh God, I completely credit a lot of my weight loss towards kickboxing/ boxing training. You work muscles you can only imagine! haha Good on you for sticking with it and most of all, enjoying what you're doing. Bugger off to all those people who said weight loss has to be boring and too difficult! :beerchug:

good luck !!

wow you do alot of classes, im jealous.. my gym doesnt offer hardly any, and the ones they do are times i cant go :(

I know what you mean. The gym i go to opened up about a year ago and they hardly had any at that time so i wasn't even interested. Plus i felt so self-conscious about myself then. But now they have twice as many and really good instructors. And as far as feeling self-conscious I definitely don't anymore but i think that comes with knowing the moves and losing weight.

Awe, thanks Jenna.

Listing all the changes really helps with recognizing what i've done so far. And it doesn't let so many of those pesky negatives seep in. :)

Man, I love my classes. There's mostly women that participate so it feels more empowering when we're all kicking and jabbing. hazah!

Thanks Sheryl!
I definitely am crediting my recent weight loss to those kick-my-ass classes. I think that's where i'm burning most of my calories and they're fun to boot! :jump:

204.5

Wow i haven't posted in a while. Sorry for being MIA for so long. I've kinda been lurking while being super busy at work.

Anyway, so this past week has not been good. Well actually it wasn't horrible since i still managed myself down to 204.5. I was pleasantly surprised. :) But this past weekend was my fiance's birthday weekend and we both took full advantage. Even my workouts got sidetracked. Haven't been to the gym since Thursday. But it's all good. I'm ready to go back with a vengeance! Tonight is Cycling class...which i started last monday. It kills me...in a good way. I've decided to take my efforts to a new level and really push myself to get to onederland this month and maybe lower. This week's grocery trip will be overflowing with good nutritious groceries. And i wanna start cooking too. No more excuses!

How is everyone doing?

205.5 Starting Better.

So for the past 2 weeks i haven't been eating all that well. Went off a couple of weeks ago and it hasn't been the same since. I haven't gone completely crazy but i stopped counting calories daily and have been making too many excuses to eat pizza and whatever else. The fiance and I have been having major financial problems and my usual instinct in these matters is to....EAT! And I know it hasn't been as bad as it could be. I've essentially tried to stick to my daily calories (counting in my head which isn't completely accurate) but they have mostly been bad calories. Honestly, I've been making the excuse that since we are really broke we can't afford healthy foods...total crap. I know we can afford some healthy choices.

Anyway, throughout all this I've still been managing to get my ass to the gym, 4-6 days out of the week, which explains why i haven't gained. But I hate that. I work out so hard but see no visual benefits. Don't get me wrong..I'm proud that thru the past 2 weeks I still got myself to workout but i want to get to my goal. So today is reevaluation day. I've been going thru the stickies all morning writing stuff down on new lifting exercises and nutrition. I'm recalculating my daily calorie intake and sticking to it. I want this. I plan on preparing my day meals & snacks before hand so that i don't have to rely on high sodium soups or fast food "healthy" choices. I'll be saving money to boot. NO MORE EXCUSES!

One last thing that's been on my mind as well...I've been thinking of cutting out alcohol for a month for a bigger boost and also to see how I feel completely off of it. As of right now it's been acting as a catalyst to doing not so great on the weekends.
