I know the title of my diary doesn't exactly spew confidence but what can I say? I'm a fat blob of a man and sick and tired of it.......

5'9 and 250 lb of lard. Plain and simple.

I'm just gonna leave it at that for now. Will be back later to talk about my strategy, etc. etc...but for now I'm so fed up. Just ate a double big mac combo, 2 large fries and a giant sized coke. Idiot.

Anyways....

Til later

Hi, Richard & welcome to the forum. What has happened until this point is history. Let it be a lesson & move on. It's time to be positive & take steps to getting you to where you want to be. It involves a commitment to yourself. It involves learning to look at your good points & not to put yourself down.
I'm a fat blob of a man
That sort of talk has to stop if you plan on ever feeling positive about yourself.
Look at why you have got to the weight you are now. Write down why you think that is. You don't have to share it with anyone else. If you need help changing your mindset & building self-esteem, try to get that help. List what you think you are doing wrong & then do another list of changes you can make.
From my own personal experience, it is much harder to become & stay slim if you don't feel good about who you are. I think it's the key.
You will find that most of us have a lot in common. You have found a friendly, non-judgemental place. Cheers, Cate

Hey Richard and welcome to the diaries!
What the others said: the only way to get to goal is to keep trying until you get there, learning from your mistakes on the way. We´re here to support you, so let´s do this

Thanks for all the support. It's not off to a good start. The diet plan I bought in e-book for $4 is now free.....fml.

Oh well.

So the diet I'm trying is called The Oat and Chili Diet. Found it while browsing around on Amazon, it's new and has no reviews yet so I don't know how well this will work.

Got my chili cooking today though, we'll see how it goes.

This is my day 1.

I don't think fad diets are good because they teach you nothing. I think the best "diet" is eating healthy & exercising more, with eating healthy the most important. Counting your calories until you get used to eating healthy portions is a good idea. Most of us use My Fitness Pal. I don't eat the exercise calories back as I think we are inclined to "over-estimate" our exercise & "underestimate" how much we eat.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.

I've already lost close to 2 pounds on this diet in 3 days. I'm going to keep going and see how it goes moving forward.

Im not sure if the chili you are eating on your chili diet is equivalent to what we eat here in Texas but if I was on a chili diet I would be so flatulent no one would want to stay in the room with me lol
