Thats my Goal....
Kwik blurp about why I have to do this in the First place. For the Past several Years I have allowed myself from any Normal Eating pattern of decent food (healthy food) My days would consist of Coffee on the fly then grab 1 or 2 biscuits from hardee's ( if I even had breakfast)on my way to work... Get to work and eat some Popcorn (we actually have fresh popcorn everyday at my office for customers)LUnch I would go to the Local grocery store and get what ever the Slop of the day was (IF I had lunch at all) Evening time would come I would make a HUge meal of Pasta, steak bacon wrapped something or other on the Grill etc... and proceed to have 4 or more coctails plus snacks!

Really sitting back and looking at what I had allwoed myself to become I was not happy with me and obviously the way I looked.

Start date? sometime in the week before Christmas I said lets do this... I started out at 285 pounds + or - I made it through the holidays with out Snacking too much and actually was able to lose 1 or 2 lbs now in the Second week of 2007 I am at 268 this morning (oh yea and no cigarettes since Jan 1 either) Now I have been Counting Calories and forcing my self to Eat three Meals a day plus 3 Healthy Snacks as well... walking at least three times a week for 20-30 minutes however here in wisconsin we normally have snow and I live in the country where the roads are not the best to walk in winter so my wife and I bought a treadmill today to help out in the winter...

1 confession I still allow myself coctails twice a week... Someday I will either eliminate one day or reduce the amount on both days....

GREAT job, both taking the plunge and completely revamping your life style!!

It sounds like you have a good plan in place that's working for you, and congratulations for the weight loss so far AND for quitting the cigs!

When today is all said and done it will look like this 1938 Calories

Breakfast (395 Calories)
1 1/4 Cups Healthy Start Cereal
1/2 cup of milk 1 percent
1 glass (12 oz) orange Juice

Snack (100 Calories)
1 Granola Bar

Lunch (560 Calories)
Sandwich
1 Banana
11 Ritz Toasted Crakers

3:30 Snack (160 Cal)
Granola Bar

Dinner (623 Calories)
1/4 lb of Ground Beef 97% lean
1/6 cup of grated cheese
1 flour tortilla
Salad

8:00 pm Snack (100 Cal)
Yogurt w / homemade Granola

45 minutes of walking
20 situps
20 Pushups
about 50 ozs of water
Walked a bit extra today because of lasts Night Bottle of wine..
 
Tough day at work... somebody brought in like 45 Apple, Lemon Cherry Danishes and Cinnamin sweet rolls... I did not have any though


Started off the Day with a quick 15 minute Brisk walk before I went to work just to kick start metabolism

BReakfast (395)
Cereal and OJ

10:00 snack (100)

Lunch (480)
Sandwich
Grapes
Carrots


3:30 Snack (130)


Dinner (439)
4 oz of grilled Chicken
Salad

Tonight (80)
Yogurt and Granola

Total for day 1614

roughly 60 oz of water maybe a bit more
24 Sit ups and 24 Push ups
Split in half... Half of them in the Morn and the Rest in evening

Good for you for resisting those danishes! As well as that brisk morning walk!
 
well today was a day of Boat shows (by the Way I sell boats for a living) 10 hours on my feet standing on Concrete show floor.... Ouch cant wait till there is a little less weight on my frame....
I am too tired to type my Calories Eaten but I passed on all of the Treats and Snacks and Free hotdogs today... made a healthy lunch instead.... going be right around 1800-1900 calories when it is all said and done.

No walk as I felt standing on concrete was good enough...

26 Sit ups
26 PUsh ups
Split in half once in the morning and one in evening...
Will have another day like that tommorow..
 
You're doing well Richard - especially surviving the boat show!

Another wonderful day on concrete... and another 16-1700 calories consumed.... was down about three pounds this morning when I woke up... we will see tomorow if it was water weight or not....

only about 40 -50 oz of water today
28 sit ups
28 push ups..

THis next week Is Hell week... I have a boat show in minneapolis that goes from Wednesday to Sunday and I will be on the Floor from 9:00 am till 10 pm every day.... I have put together 5 Bags already 1 for each day with about 1900 calories of Dried fruit nuts Power and protien bars and Crackers with Peanut butter plus Bannana for Food and Energy... I will only get a chance at Morning Continental breakfast from hotel.... OUch My feet and Knees will be hating me .........
 
Sounds like that will be a boat load of fun(hahaha! no pun intended. Ok, maybe a little.)! Congrats on no ciggs to, thats awesome! I need to start having bags of snacks and stuff ready to go... to often I walk out of my house without remembering anything healthy, then I'm forced to get an expensive salad somewehre, or wait till I get home.

Hi Richard! You are doing great! You might get some inserts for your shoes to alleviate some of the pressure... That is great that you got a treadmill, I thought about getting one for me and my dog... she needs it just as much as I do.

Double Kudos on kicking but (literally)!!! I was a smoker too and giving it up was one of the best things that I ever did. Now I can't stand to smell cig. smoke!

Today was a Normal day back to the office no Concrete...YAY!!!!!

Calories was around 1600

I tried to walk like M2M.... But I can not yet.... took me 30 minutes to walk 1.5 miles and I have longer legs....:eek:

Still have to do evening Sit ups and push ups...YUCK:(

Hey troutman....

Tommorow night is BLT's.... that's right Bacon!!!!!!:D


it will be microwaved precooked...but Bacon none the less
 
Richard C, Your doing great. Man it would be nice to have bacon I have a mean wife & she won't let me have any.

Hey Richard, don't worry about the distance or the time walked yet - just get out there and do what you did :)

Walk as much as you can, then SLOWLY add more distance, you can build it up!

And good for you for doing so well calorie-wise during the boat shows! It is so hard when a schedule is changed like that.
 
So what does everybody Crave?

I have had no Real Food Cravings I have been around Sweets and such and have wanted them but not craved them .... However I Really Really Really would Love a Glass of wine or a Single malt Scotch.... Or a Saphire Martini..... A good Cocktail has always been my weakness and I have cut my self down to two nights allowed if I have been good on food in between those nights...

around 1400-1500 calories not exact...

Mental note do not forget morning sit ups and push ups ... cause it absolutely Sucks..... doing both morning and evening sets at the same time in the evening.... also 25 minutes on the treadmill tonight and 30 seconds of were Jogging......YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA:D :D :D :D

I will try to post up while in mInneapolis at night... But I doubt I will have enough energy to do it... So I hope everyone has a good week and talk to ya all in morning then next time will be Monday Next off to hell week starting tomorow Morn....
 
Eek! It sounds like it's going to be a tough week! You'll manage though and come out the other side just fine :D

As for cravings - I don't really have any, because if I want it, I have it and just factor it in to my calories. There are times I miss that vegie state of eating though, the time when you just eat whatever you want and not count the calories, and if it's a whole can of pringles, oh well...

But I don't miss what it did to my body - not enough to ever go back ;)
