Rest

I'm 18 and I have like no schedule at all. All my friends work different hours so we end up hanging out at night. Like this week i've stayed out till 4 am 3 times lol. And I kinda sleep whenever, i'm sure its taking a negative effect on how I build muscle...but what are the effects, and how bad is it? I'm the kind of person that takes a few hours to fall asleep...so sometimes I end up staying up for 2 days straight.

Well I'm not a professional or anything, but I do know that muscles are built when you rest - you use the weights to tear 'em up at the gym but it's the rest time where they repair and you get stronger. So if you're not resting, it seems to me that at best you're inhibiting your progress in that sense, but it could lead to a host of health problems down the road. Not the least of which it brings down your immune system, making you more vulnerable to whatever's going around these days (and makes it harder to get well once you've caught it). Get your rest - chances are you'll find you enjoy the more limited time with your friends more since you won't be so tired all the time.

It will have a negative effect on you immune system. As Stingo said its the rest that builds muscle. Lifting weights breaks muscle down. Eating and resting builds it back up stronger.
