rest time

is it important to have the sameamount of rest time between sets of any kind of weight training excercise(bench press, dumbell curls, deadlifts)
 
Well, don't spend 10minutes BSing with your buddies, but yes. 60-120 secs between sets is a typical standard, depending on your goal.
 
Sometimes you may require more depending on the intensity of the exercise, for example with heavier squats and deadlifts I tend to rest quite a bit between sets.
