Resistance training for abs?

i have found that for my body my abs get worked better and just respond better when i treat them just like any other body part in means of just doing 3x10-4-12 but weighted? I was just wondering if yal have had the same results and also if u know any more excersies i could weight and preform other than the usual crunches and so on.
 
Yes exactly, the abdominals should be treated like any other muscle.

There are plenty of exercises you can do. Besides the obviouse crunches there are deadliftfs, squats, hanging leg raises, planks, ab wheel rollouts, leg downs and their variations, russian twists........... and the list goes on and on!
