Relying more on exercise to lose weight: a success

Hi all, as I had let everyone know earlier, I began dieting in Mid June while 111Kg = 244Lb heavy, but by now I am down to 94Kg = 207LB so it is all going well with the diet.

However this last month I took a different approach relying on physical activity to lose weight walking briskly 3 or 4 hours per day in 2 or 3 spells. I completely gave up on counting calories in food consumed instead I go by sight alone to judge portions. And it worked well as I lost 4KG = 9LB during the previous month (mid October to mid November).

It's worth noting that a three hour walk will burn 1600 calories, 1300 more than just sitting down reading or watching TV for those three hours. The total calory expenditure for the day, 8 hours sleeping, 13 hours sedentary, 3 hours brisk walking is around 3500 calories which means eating 2200 calories per day will still allow for a fast weight loss.

No doubt physical exersice is the way forward one can do away with having to diet with a relatively small amount of food and worries about creating nutritional deficiencies.

You know that's interesting I began exercising a couple weeks ago and I had intended to count all my calories - but after two days of that I got lazy and stopped counting calories - but I still lost 4.5 lbs that week because I was exercising every day for 1 hour. I think the reason I lost so much weight is how I organized my exercises. You may be interested in how I did that. If you are you can see how at my blog: [spam removed]

P.S. Now instead of counting calories I pay attention to how many grams of fat I'm eating a day - I aim for 50 grams or less. I wrote a blog post about how the amount of fat we eat affects our weight loss here: [spam removed]
