Recently Changed my Workout

Age: 22
Weight: 160
Height: 5'11

For about 5 months straight I had been doing the same exact workout...sorry if I don't have the proper terms...kinda new at this but I've been doing bench press, curls, triceps extension, ab machine, chest machine (butterfly like), turn around on that chest machine to do back, and two sets of 25 pushups. For the machines I would do 3 sets of 10, same difficulty. And before this little workout scheme I had been active, like I ran track for 4 years and played basketball, but nothing with weights.

Anyway threw the 5 months I started getting better but doing those things got a little boring and I wanted to start working out my legs, so about a month ago I switched up my workout entirely. I had read somewhere that very slooooow repetitions build muscle so I figured might as well give it a try.....and my workout was this:

Leg curls
Leg extensions
Squat
Straight-arm pullover
Bench press
Overhead Press
Biceps Curl
Triceps extension
Wrist Curl
Standing Calf Raise
Trunk Curl (15, hold for 5 at top)

I would only do 6 reps....10 seconds up and 10 seconds down....and within the last month I put on 7 lbs. I think it's mainly from my legs because I can feel the difference in them....but I'm definately glad I changed up my workout and I plan to change a lot more frequently now.....like I said, I'm still fairly new at this stuff...about 6 months and actually like a month ago began reading on it.....and I see that it's good to change up your workouts to shock your muscles and all of that...so I will change probably in the next month...I'm happy with what is going on now.

As for food...I eat whatever....no diet and I don't take and protein or creatine or anything.....should I? I don't know....just figured I'd share my experience thus far

Thanks

Those are alot of damn exercises for one workout, but if you gained 7lbs of muscle..more power to you. Good job.
