Rebel's Diary

Nice job keeping up the protein! When I saw the calorie counts for everything I was shocked. It sounds so low cal lol. Oh well! Keep up the great work. Do you have a specific period of time where you keep up with weigh-ins?

My protein is almost always up there...my daily protein run between 100-150 g a day
Eggs beans peanut butter cheeses and ohhh the meat...it all adds up

The only sugar i eat are in things like peanut butter or the sneaky sugars that food people sneak in..I've gone so long without sugar too much physically makes me ill. Most of my food is lowish carb and that tends to be lower in calories.
Most of the foods are lower in cals because I have a huge appetite and i can have more. I've always had trouble getting enough calories rather than too many...the captian of the food police stays on my butt constantly.

Like yesterday i had a full fillet of salmon. 20 ounces is only about 400 calores the rest was the cauliflower which has almost none and the rest was the glaze/marinade i poured over the salmon before baking.
(Butter, olive oil, hot curry powder, garum masala, cumin, corriander, lemon juice)

I norm weigh every other Saturday or so...
Watching those numbers go up and down everyday drives me nuts...

Haha I feel you on that. I post my weight on Fridays, but if I get curious beforehand, then I will take a peek. It's very easy to get discouraged when you see your weight fluctuate. I'm doing Every Other Day Fasting and I can gain up to 2-3 pounds on a feed day.

Yea with a perm fast the numbers can get odd.

Got roped into an unofficial family reunion. Too much food and leftovers but stayed away from sweet stuff. So its a heck if i know calore day...

Today was busy...
Went to the optometrist and that took forever. Stopped by a little Vietnamese restaurant for Breakfast/Lunch. Stopped by GNC to get more protein powder because I've been out for awhile.
Got home and was on the phone with Microsoft forever; my xbox is sick :(
Supper was a protein shake because I just really really didn't want to cook. Then about 4 hours of school stuff....ugg long day...

Hmpf. Definitely not worth the food then. I assume those two raw eggs go into the shake? What does that taste like?
It doesn't give it any taste at all. It kicks up the protein and acts as a natural thickener..you really wouldnt know its in there at all.

I was supposed to do abunch of reading for school but I just couldn't get into it..just bipolar stuff I guess.

Yo pho is the shiiiiit. So good. There's a Vietnamese spot near my college and me and my boyfriend love to go there. Hmm.. maybe when I see him for spring break I could go get some... -sigh- let the cravings begin!
I have had fast food style pho on the road and it was ok, but this one was amazing. The lady told me how she made it and i have to say its a long process. The spices needed...i dont have. Things like star anise and some others i have never bought in my life lol. Hers was made with beef shank but she said oxtails works just as well.
Damn im ready for more.....

Have you ever had seafood pho? I was pretty nervous to try it, but it actually turned out good, and I don't even like seafood that much. It had crab meat, squid, some form of fish, shrimp, and clam meat. Soo good. I also like the veggie pho. Probably my favorite. I love the carrots, baby corn, broccoli, and celery in it.

No i haven't but I love seafood so I would probably like it. Veggies i can take them or leave them. I like veggies but i have to be in the mood for them i guess. I also love gumbo. My favorite is chicken and sausage. I wonder ifthat would be good in a pho hmmmm.
The only bad thing about the pho is the noodles. Thats more carbs than i like to have at once..maybe a whole wheat option??? I asked the lady what type of noodles she used but she didnt know how to say it in english. Ill have to do some research i suppose.

I think that pho is literally the word for rice noodles. So yeah, it is pretty calorific. When I eat a bowl, I usually focus on the things that float in the soup rather than the pho itself. I drink all of the broth and leave about half of the noodles at the bottom of the bowl. There's also the option of asking for to-go containers before you start eating and dividing up the soup that way. Just a suggestion.

Pho is derived from the French "pot au feu" as far as I know. Dry-roasted Shirataki noodles may be a alternative as they have no carbs but not everyone likes them.
