Quick Question: Weight

I am trying to build muscle and am not sure what weight for dumbells I should be using. My previous experience with different weights doing bicep curls are:

30lb - About 20 reps
35lb - About 12-14 reps
40lb - About 7 reps
45lb - About 3-4 reps

Which should I get if I want to build big muscle fast?
 
I'm not sure how many I could do with 50lb dumbells, but would those be better?



I already have 30lb dumbells, but I want to get heavier ones.
 
You're not going to build much muscle doing 30 rep stuff. And you're not going to build muscle without eating to build muscle.
 
Eat more, do lots of heavy backwork (barbell rows, pullups, chins).

and it looks like the 40lb dumbbells are putting you in a good rep range for hypertrophy, to induce muscle growth.
