quick question re: "burn"

alright, been about a month since i've been to the gym...i'm back now though

two days ago i did upper body, yesturday lower body. my upper body is still feeling the "burn" so to speak from two days ago, so should i go do upper body again today regardless, or wait another day?

This came up yesterday. Check here for some thoughts.

Your case is a bit different though. It wouldn't hurt to take a day off. Try something like (using upper lower and off):

ULOULOO or ULOUOLO

to give your body a break. Sounds like you're doing ULULULO or something.

ULULULO that's what i was doing before my break, yeah.

i did end up doing upper today, but instead of 3 sets i did 2, and one notch less in weight. i actually feel less sore now after the workout

That's too many a week. Just because you od alot of workouts doesn't mean that you are making alot of gain,s your body must rest in order to grow. ULOULOO is how I would do it, but UOLOULO would be ok as well. Generally you should avoid weight training more than two days in a row.

not really looking for gains perse. just want to keep what i have while i drop some fat.....is everyday still too much for this purpose? i also do 30mins cardio (80%+ MHR) 6days a week

You're still over-training with 3U and 3L per week. Rest is as important as work. 2U 2L and 2 Cardio days is plenty.
