Quick question on diet-increasing calories

Right now I am eating 3400 calories for bulking up. I am 5'9, weighting at 150 pounds. I hope to achieve twenty more pounds within the next year.

When and how often do I increase my calories and by what amount? Up to what amount? How do I know when I need to increase some more?

I've read somewhere on site that it is best to go over a thousand calories more than your regular bulking up diet every few weeks for three days and go back to gain more weight for muscle mass, do you think this is a good advice?

My ratio of carbs/fat/protein is 43/33/24

1 pound a week is really hard. I'd be lucky and thrill to get 0.5 to 1 lb gain a week.

As for the diet: try to consume 1-1.5 g of protein per lbs bodyweight. You carbs is good just eat slow or fast digesting at right time. Always drink your whey after workout and casein / cottage cheese before bed. I would not go out of my way to eat fat though; it will come with the food. Take some fish oil pill. Keep measuring yourself consistently in the morning to track your weight.
