Question about work out days

Right now I am a freshman in college. Last semester I started to do a little bit of wieght training at school, and I felt good after it. I liked the results so i signed up for a year membership at a gym near my house.
This semester is the first semester that I am working. And my schedule doesn't allow me any time to work out like it did last semester:mad: At the moment I am looking at 2 options.

My account at home is frozen (free of charge). If I were to unfreeze the account I could only go to the gym twice a week (Saturday and Sunday) becuase those are the days that I go home.

My school has 2 gyms, one right next to my dorm which is free but has odd hours like 1pm-6pm and another that is 40 bucks a semester and is open till 8pm.

I guess personally I would just unfreeze my account and suck it up that I am losing days. But oh well right?
So my question to you all is, I am a beginner and I was wondering if it would be worth it to only work out on those 2 days, and keep in mind they are back to back. or should I just sign up at the gym at my school?

That's a good question, I'd love to hear some other answers on it. Due to schedule, I've been workin out Saturday, Sunday and Monday. But I'm not seeing the same results as I did on my Mon, Wed, Friday routine. My problem is when I work out 3 days in a row, then rest for 4 straight days, I get a little flab round the belly. Fridays are out, so I'm gonna try Mon, Wed, and Saturday.

Is this all in my head, or is there something to splitting up days as opposed to all in a row?

Are you against working out during the 1-6 time frame or is it that you do not have the time because of school?

I'd choose the school gym option as #1.

I got good results from working out body parts once a week, but it still involved a 5 day a week thing. Would be real difficult to make 2 days (and specially in a row) a week effective.

I'd go with a different option.

Well I forgot to add that I can go to the gym on monday. If that makes a difference. So it would be 3 days in total.
I understand what you mean. During winter break I went to the gym everyday.
So for the most part I think I will just start up the account and work out on those 3 days for a while and see how it goes.

If you want to go to the other membershipt gym, what I would do is... On Saturday, do upperbody, and monday do lower body. So it is spred out a little. Dont workout on saturday. But im no expert. I would actually use the school gym though.

$40 for a semester isn't really expensive, that equates to $10 a month. We're charged about that much up at the university but it's already added into the student fees so we don't have much say so about paying it or not.

I mean, if you're willing to pay the monthy membership to just have a gym 2-3 times a week, why not pay the university fee and have access 4-5 days a week?

There's always the other option to use the S-M gym and buy some dbs to use on a third day through the week.

Or (since I'm rambling anyway) you could always do a fullbody workout on Sat and Mon and have 5 days off and do some bodyweight stuff on Weds or so. Or do an upper on Sat, lower on Sun, and upper on Mon and then the next week switch the set up. Keep in mind that something is better than nothing.

Good luck and make the best out of whatever you choose.

I currently work out two days a week, Wed and Saturday. I would love to go more, but I work and have family to attend to. I would go the membership gym, and see how many people are there during those late hours, see if there is room before you spend your money. If its anything like my college gym, there won't be many people on the weekend. Forty bucks is pretty cheap, and since I dont know what unfreezing the acct has to do with anything, that gym #2 is what I would go with.
