Question about cardio

Well I am still new to weight training since I did not start that long ago but I do a fullbody workout 3 times a week and would also like to do some cardio once or twice on their own days and I wanted to do HIIT. I wanted to put on some muscle so I was wondering if I just did HIIT on a treadmill once or twice a week would I lose alot of muscle or would it slow down the process of bulding muscle?
 
would hiit reduce muscle?
not really i think hiit is geared towards burning fat.

if ur only doing it 1-3 times a week on days u dont lift i dont think it will hamper ur muscle gains
 
Ok thanks I workout 3 times a week and plan to do HIIT on the days between where I dont do any lifting twice a week
 
HIIT type cardio is different from normal cardio as your trying to avoid muscle loss to a minimum.

2-3 times a week is sufficient, 20-30 minutes a session.
in addition, if your trying to pack on muscle growth *bulking* you need to eat more calories, dont expect to cut while bulking!
