Pyramid set/reps help

Hello,

I have started doing the pyramid set and rep for about a week. I go Low to high in weights and its going good. The thing is that I am a begineer so i know anything will work for me, but if i do a pyramid thing will it make me a slower runner?

this is what a basic overview is:

squats: 12,10,8,6 reps with a 10lbs increase on 8 and 6 and the rest is 20lb increase

thats the same with dead lifts and i try it with bench press but somethings cant finish. With my other excercises i do 10, 8, 6 instead. i do a fullbody workout.

I am trying to get faster and stronger for lacrosse but i want to LOOK the same, i dont care if I weight more but thats not wat i want the most. So will rep/set scheme make a SLOWER athlete?

I will clear up any questions you guys have if needed.

lol ya thats what i thought, but I started my new program last week and started doing squats for the first time in my life and I was SOAR as hell, had a hard time walking up stairs. Then i went running and i looked slow so thats what got me kind of pissed.


That makes me curios on another question: If I wanted to add muscle mass with a fullbody routine, would I become slower? I mean add like 15 lbs of muscle?
