pyramid bench

Hi

This is my first post, ive been doing weights on and off now for a few years. I just wanted to know with bench press is pyramid lifting effective?

I've hit a plateau and cant bench past 220 pounds??

It depends on what your goals are.

Pyramid sets and reps "can" be good, but there are far more effective ways to reach your goals. If your after strength then you'd be better on a 5x5, or 7x3. But if your looking for size then 3x10-15 would be better./
 
So basically if I just wanted to make my chest bigger I would be better off just doing 3 sets of 10-15 reps, no pyramid or anything like that though??
