Proving them ALL Wrong!

Lisa, I think the fact that I am so thrifty helps me some at the movies I am just wowed at the prices in there! As for the secret usually I lurk around on forums for quite a while before anyone knows I am there...so I am the secret!

Oh no I was wondering what your secret to not eating popcorn was, lol. I did wonder about your name before though and never asked so that helps :)

After a long absence I return to the forum. i had surgery to remove my gallbladder about 8 weeks ago and gained about 20 lbs. So I was motivated to get back down to my lowest weight in several years - 196 lbs on 4/27/10.

I am now at 214.8 (on 9/27) I was at 223.4. My eating and exercise regimen has changed quite a bit from when I was last here...

Breakfast - 4 egg whites/1 cup fruit

Lunch - large green salad (romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, brocoli, snow peas) and grilled chicken breast
side of fruit or potato (regular or sweet)

snack - two egg whites/ 1 piece fruit
Dinner - large green salad (see lunch) and 4 oz shrimp or chicken with 1 cup rice (brown or white) or potatoes
and a side of veggies - cabbage/green beans/broccoli

dessert- unsweetened applesaus and mashed banana with cinnamon

I need some advice on my workout routine which mainly consists of cardio right now with very light weights (2lbs each). I get up at 7 and walk the two miles in the walk away the pounds videos. At lunch we walk the bridges here in downtown Jax for a total of three miles with lots of incline. During the day I bought a little exercycle that fitsuner my desk and I cycle all day (on and off) like a recumbent bike.

I think I should add strength training but I dont want to overdo it. anyone have any thoughts on the eating or exercise habits? i did lose 8.6 pounds this week but I know that kind of loss is not sustainable but I do want to keep the pounds coming off.

Thanks!

the galbladder is tough tough tough i had mine removed so painful before hand, and your foods will process differently like if you do eat bad it does not feel good digesting, as far as workout me personally im on my 5th day of 30 day shred by jillian michaels and i love it and hate it. hate it cause the first 3 days i could barely walk but if you can get over that and continue even if youre sore by the 5th day its much better, from what ive seen about it people have had some great results in the 30 days im hoping i get those too, and its only 20 minutes long of a work out, good luck!

The gallbladder was painful. It was full of stones, my surgeon called it "ancient." I feel muh better now, oddly enough coffee caused the issue to surface.

We have very similar stats but I HATE bing overly sore, some soreness I can live with, no being able to walk wont work for me. Too much is going on...

Well i could hardly walk the next day but i started the night before a day off from work so when i worked out later on that day yeah i was sore but it sorta felt better to work those muscles out, if you want to try stretching slightly more before you do it expecially your quads thats what killed me theres lots of squats and lunges in the video, and by the 3rd day i was sore at work and my mmanager said i was walking like a corn cobb was stuck up my butt but i still walked around and cut hair like any other day its worth it trust me cause by the 5th day its not as bad :]

Thanks so much! I am trying to sustain a reasonable loss each week. I am not quite sure about my workout so I am going to add a few things in. I have Toby Horton's 10 minute Trainer so this weekend I wil ad that to my routine.

I was super tired today so I didnt get in my morning two mile walk away the pounds but I will walk 3 miles at lunch time at least or hit the elliptical in our gym.

Breakfast was two egg whites and I forgot my fruit. So I had half a fiber one bar and a cup of coffee. Lunch will be a large salad with Chicken or Shrimp not sure which yet. Off to get my first liter of 3 per day...
