Hey i am new and this will be my weight loss umm... journal lol.

check here http://weight-loss.fitness.com/t/52199/hello for my introduction.

This is my most recent picture two days ago with my gf melissa,

My goal is to get down to 225lbs i am active but i over eat well not anymore getting healthier and counting my calories watching what i eat and getting more active by walking 2 miles a day to start working up to a jog. My main issue is my belly :( so i have started doing sit ups working my stomach muscles. I really cant wait to see changes :)

I plan to post updates, weights, pictures ect. every few days :) thanks for the support everyone.

Cheers R.

OK so today i had a bowl of soup for breakfast at 130 calories then went out for a 2 mile walk with my gf so far so good. I needed to get my weight figured out so being a frequent recycle shop visitor i know they have a large scale there and they know me so i went and got myself a number, as of today at 4pm i weigh 420lbs -_- This is the heaviest i have ever been and even at that i am relieved to know it is not higher. I am confident i can get to my goal of 225.

For lunch i had a lean cuisine at 270 calories with a glass of unsweetened sun tea with Zero calories as it is just flavored water. i gave up drinking soda because i got to the point of a 2liter a day almost :piggy:. since then i have felt much better and drinking caffeine free sugar free tea keeps me much more hydrated.

Cheers all R.

AYou can get to your goal man, you just have to stick with it. If you ever need extra motivation just go to frogged's thread and you will see that it can be done.

Good luck man and no matter what, don't quit.

Your off to a great start. I was doing some reading online and found that you don't want to eat too few calories. Your body needs a certain amount of calories to function pretty much. For girls its around 1200 and for guys its around 1500. Ok i plugged in your numbers to figure out about how many calories you should be taking it. Right now based off your age, height, and weight. Your daily calorie intake to maintain the same weight is 4810 calories a day. Now you need to figure out how much you want to lose in what amount of time.

Ill give you an example of the formula to figure it out and you can just plug in the numbers you want into it.

1lb = 3500 calories. So say you want to lose 50lbs in 2 months. you would do 50 x 3500 = 175,000. That means you need to save 175,000 calories in 2 months. To find out how many calories you need to save per day you would do this. 175,000 / 60 = 2917. I got the 60 because there are 60days in 2 months. So now you need to save 2917 calories a day to lose the 50lbs in 2 months. Now you take your calories to maintain your current weight which is 4810 - 2917 = 1893. So on average you should only eat around 1893 calories each day!!

When first getting started its kinda hard to get used to. but You can do it. Some people even have a "cheat day" where they eat whatever they want like once a week. Be sure to keep us posted :)

AHi Rob. I wish you the best of luck, from browsing this website, I've found many people who have seen incredible results. As I have been recommended to by other users, you should definitely start food intake journal to keep you in focus.

I guess some basic tips on my side, my 2 cents...kind of no-brainers really, is to watch out for portion size, chew your food slowly and take your time, and if possible have a few sips of water between each bite... you'll notice that by taking your time you will feal full with less quantity, as opposed to mauling down a bunch of food and then feeling like you are about to explode. Don't skip meals, this will boost your metabolism, and most importantly, it'll help you not overindulge during your next meal.

i think that if you make those basic changes plus what everyone else tells you and what you read online, that you will see some decent results quickly. It'll just get harder when you reach lower weights.

Anyway, I'm in no way an expert, just thought I'd give you some food for thought. I'll be watching your thread and cheering you on.

Thanks a ton guys this is more support than i was expecting.

I have started a record of what i eat and i have started counting my calories as i go. Im glad you posted that Example for me Missjanie i have actually been taking in between 1300 to 1600 calories a day and eating a low fat diet. tonights dinner was one cup of green peas, skinless chicken breast, and a baked potato with light sodium free butter and pepper 401 calories all together. that with my other two meals today and my sunflower seed habit i am up to 1408 calories today :).

Cheers R.

Good day everyone got up early this morning 8 am :) im usually a night owl you know getting up at 12 or 1 pm every day and going to bed at 5 or 6 am -_- this might explain why i am misshapen lol. I want to change that to WAS a night owl because for one its made me lazy and for two i really enjoy the early morning, i am currently part time working for a security company i work concerts and stuff like that but late in the year there is not much going on here so i have a ton of free time that i want to use to get in shape.

I took a picture of myself in just my workout shorts after my morning shower and when i put it on the computer it really shocked me, just seeing myself the way i can imagine others do but the good side of it is i got a lot of motivation from it. I plan to take a picture every week i am thinking mondays after my weigh in, Two actually one in a shirt for here ;) and one out of a shirt. I cant wait to get to a normal size and not be afraid to take my shirt off around people :).

I really think this is the best forum ever :)

Cheers R.

AHey there

Welcome to the forum :seeya:

I'm loving your diary and your enthusiasm :)
I have a bit of advice for you :) I have found posting every day is a must to keep me going, i find that i have to be good so i don't let everyone on here down and i post my food every day too, to be accountable there too. I find being honest with my feelings etc really help too.
Also take front and side on pictures!!! Ever week is good :) And measure yourself. I didn't take a before picture because it never occured to me that i would actually suceed this time and i didn't measure anything either. i do have pictures but didn't take any until i had already lost 10lb and i have no idea how many inches i have lost :(

Hope you don't mind me giving advice. I look forward to following your journey :)

No problem i love the advice and tips yes side pics a must thanks i didn't think of that :). im finding that if i keep myself out of the house during the day i don't eat as much as if i'm sitting around i just snacked all day -_- so getting out and active is helping me in two ways that is winning. However i do carry a bag of sunflower seeds with me to keep cravings down ;).

Cheers R.

Hey man great work so far, and I'm sure you will get a good loss this week.

If I could give you some advice, if you can find another job I would highly recommend it, because I don't think that the back/knee problems that you might get from moving all those large appliances is worth the money.

I'm working in security right now, but sense I do almost nothing, I have a lot of extra energy to workout when I get back home or before work.

Hey guys sorry i didn't post yesterday i got called out on some unexpected work and i will fill you in when i get home.

Cheers R. :)
