Project Belly Button

After almost 70 pounds lost, I looking for more sources to keep me going, so I thought I'd make a diary.

I'm 5'4. I started at 232. Most of this weight was gained in grad school, I'm finally down to where I was in undergrad/high school. My goal (one of many) is to have a flat belly so that my belly button looks good and I can show it off! Well I am modest, so really it would be so I could show it off.

I bought a pair of "motivational" pants, size 12 which is one size less than what I've been wearing. It's also smaller than high school! I finally got to the point where I can fit in all my old clothes, and want to fit in even smaller so I bought these. I could button these, but it wasn't pretty! Now they almost look right, but still a little too tight for me to be comfortable. They are old navy so of course they are sized bigger. I just now got the 14s in everything else to fit.

I would love to one day be able to wear single digit size pants!

I'll post again about how I made my progress so far, I just wanted to jump into what I was battling/thinking about right now.

Hi Jainah, welcome to the forum :D I would say good luck, but you don't need luck, as you've already lost 70lbs. Well done! That is a HUGE amount. One day you will fit into single digit sizes.

You've got the same idea as me :) I bought a size 12 (uk) dress, as a goal dress to fit into, and in only two and a half weeks, I can already get the zip up a few inches higher. Its a big boost seeing it fit better.

Welcome and Well done on the first 70 pounds!! You are doing great and single digits are with in your reach!!! :):)

OK I posted some pics over at the before/after. Warning...I'm in a sports bra/shorts. I keep thinking about pulling the pics down from there but I'm going to try and brave it out. I don't have many at my highest weight. One of my mini goals was to get to a weight where I was comfortable with normal pictures of myself, I was going on vacation and dag nab it I wanted to document it and have fun. For me that was 190, which was where I could start fitting in misses instead of plus sizes.

Actually, starting last year I started taking pics of me in a sports bra/shorts every 5 lbs I lost. Then I would scrutinize over the pictures comparing to see if I thought I saw any progress. Generally I couldn't if I was comparing just 5 lbs apart, but 10 lbs I could definitely see difference. This helped motivate me because then I would think, ooh I might get to have pictures taken this weekend. I would also search this site and Welcome - My Body Gallery - What Real Women Look Like to try to imagine what I might look like at a certain weight. I think I may be slightly obsessed, but that's probably what it takes.

Rereading this post it seems a bit random and out of order..but oh well :) I also wanted to start a diary because I gained so much motivation from this site and some of the successes so I wanted to *pass it on.

Woohoo I made it through the weekend without gaining any weight, weighed in at 163.2. Usually I will gain a pound or so and spend the whole week working it back off. Maybe I can make some progress. Another mini-goal I had was to be 160 by the beginning of september. I signed up for a sprint triathalon that happens in 2 weeks. This will be my first and I'm just a bit scared. The running will be the easy part, but I'm a little scared of the 10 mile bike ride since I haven't ventured out with my bike any. I've been swimming laps every once in a while. I know I can at least finish the race, and then decide whether or not I want to keep doing these.

I think I spent 2 hours on that website of how real women look...its so additive... love it!!! Haha...your mini goals are great...I know mine really keep me in check!
