Problem-I hate water!!!!

They say drinking water at room temperature can help to bring your tolerance level up. I went out and bought a 3 liter jug from Walmart (I think it's Ozarka) and each day I fill that sucker up, add 2 drink additives (this is about 10 calories worth) and take it with me. It cuts down on the "water flavor" (is that even a proper description? lol) and allows me to view how much water I've consumed throughout the day. Don't get me wrong, don't drink it continually if you're busy at work. I probably get 20 potty breaks in during work...but at least my kidneys appreciate it!

You can also try adding a little bit of orange juice or something low-cal to your water. I drink juice 50/50 (and soda subsequently...it's far too sweet since I don't consume it regularly) and have had pretty good luck with this. You could also look into something that was good for you like pomegranate, blueberry, acai juices, etc. You'll be upping your antioxidant intake as well as your water intake. Adding lemons, limes, oranges, berries, etc are also a great idea.

Don't make it boring, do something to make it a bit exciting!

i dont like water at all either, after months of competing with myself too make myself drink it. i can just about tolerate it now.
took time but im getting there.

I just read the title of this thread. Maybe change your attitude, sorry but it might help.

Water is essential for life. Get used to it. Drink it. Look at it as a way of life coz that's what it is.

You shouldn't need to flavour it, sugar coat it, change it at all. Seriously.

Drink water. Don't think about it. Just drink it. I have no idea what else to say.

I had a question regarding drinking water. Does it matter if you drink all your water at once or do you HAVE to drink your 10 glasses all throughout the day? I am asking because I have a problem drinking water... if I plan to drink it throughout the day then I will only maybe have 2 glasses at the most but I think I could down 10 glasses over a hour, is that OK? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I've been reading over and over again recently in the news that you don't have to drink a set amount of water. Drink when you're thirsty. Done! That's what I've read, anyway.

At work I usually have a cup of ice water at my desk that I sip from throughout the day. I'd say I probably drink 1-2 cups (not cup cups, styrofoam coffee cup-sized cups) at my desk and more at home; I don't really keep track. I probably drink half a bottle at the gym in addition to that. I don't feel dehydrated or thirsty.

This may sound weird but I don't like the taste of tap water in Dallas. It's almost....gooey. I buy distilled water at the supermarket and drink that. I used to use it only in irons, but it tastes pretty good too and doesn't leave calcium deposits all over everything. It's good to use in the coffee maker too. I've been thinking about getting a Brita pitcher instead though; I think it might be cheaper in the long run than paying a buck a gallon for distilled water.

If your tap water isn't great to begin with - the brita or pur water filters don't help much.. one of the last places I lived -the tap water was pretty much undrinkable - even ice cubes had to be made with bottled water... the fridge water filters did nothing ti improve the taste... an in sink water filter might help more but those are a little pricier...

Brita helps when the water isn't awful to begin with it just makes it better

how do you not like water? It doesn't taste like anything! If that is exactly the problem, then try Purell, Fruit2O or any of those other brands of flavored water

I don't know about the drinking just when you're thirsty thing? I very seldom get thirsty, the more i drink probably the more i want. I can go all day on like one glass of water if i let myself :S i'd probably get really dehydrated if i did that lol.

I too am not a water lover. The only time I really want to drink it is while working out, or right after. I like the Crystal Light lemonade, or even the off-brand, I'm sure it's not the greatest thing for you, but it's close to 0 calories.

If you're willing to drink it all in one go... then how about breaking that up into 4?

Drink 3 glasses when you wake up, 3 glasses at 10am, 3 at 2pm and another 3 as soon as you get home. (or earlier if you get home late... I don't drink water after 7pm as I tend to wake up to pee then!

I've always hated the taste of water, occasionally it'd make me gag. However, I decided to keep drinking water anyways despite me dislike for it, and over the past month it's become something that I naturally crave now.I no longer dislike it, and drink a lot during the day without even thinking about it.

so maybe just suck it up?

just sucking it up does work, trust me! when i forced myself to drink plenty of water, i got down to my lowest weight. i absolutely hate water, and i always have. i never had to stop forcing myself to drink. :ack2: i should start drinking more water again.

Without even reading it, I am CERTAIN this is the stupidest thing I have ever seen.

Seriously, if I was closer, I would kidnap you, lock you in a closet, and give you nothing to eat or drink for 3 days. Then I'd ask you how you feel about some water. And if you said this silly shit again, I would be severely tempted to let you die.
