Problem-I hate water!!!!

I had a question regarding drinking water. Does it matter if you drink all your water at once or do you HAVE to drink your 10 glasses all throughout the day? I am asking because I have a problem drinking water... if I plan to drink it throughout the day then I will only maybe have 2 glasses at the most but I think I could down 10 glasses over a hour, is that OK? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

why don't you like water?

Try putting lemon slices or cucumber slices or someting to flavor it?

Get a water filter to help ut the taste...

You can't drink it all at once. Aim small at first. I hated water too, but now it's okay. Just aim for 4 glasses, instead of the 8. Apparently some of our water intake comes from food. Try one glass of water then your favourite drink, that's healthy e.g. orange juice, then next time you drink another glass of water and then your fav drink, and keep alternating between the two. Gradually increase the glasses of water e.g. then start having two glasses and then your fav drink.

We all struggle at some point so don't worry. It'll be fine. Just be patient with yourself.

Both of those ideas are excellent.

When drinking water you should be continuosly drinking. You body will absorb the water better that way. Otherwise you will pee out most of it. Also, it could be dangerous if you consume large amounts of water in a short period of time.

I thought I was the only one. First, I couldn't drink water that wasn't cold. Then I tried purified, then drinking water, then spring water. I went threw this process some time. Yes, they do taste differently. My favorite is Spring water, no longer matters to me whether it is cold or room temp. (still prefer cold, but not needed.) As to the consumption. I usually drink a 16.9 oz every two hours, unless I an exercising. I am actually proud of this, coming from a person who only drank Mountain Dew, literally. Now I only drink for the most part water and 1% milk. With a Fuze or equiv a couple times a week. I didn't even think about it, now I do, as I have no problem skipping the soda isle and just smile and think to myself good job. Try different types of filtering maybe you too will prefer one over the other. The suggestions of adding a lemon or something is a great idea, I have seen it, just never thought of trying it.:drool5: Just talking about water is making me thirsty.........

I also have this problem...I absolutely hate water. What I do is I add some crystal light to my water and it makes a world of difference.

I've always hated the taste of water, occasionally it'd make me gag. However, I decided to keep drinking water anyways despite me dislike for it, and over the past month it's become something that I naturally crave now.I no longer dislike it, and drink a lot during the day without even thinking about it.

so maybe just suck it up?

I read that milk juice and clear soups count towards your fluids!!

You can always try that flavored water. Or putting squeezing lemons or other berries in there it may taste better. And drinking it all at once makes me feel really full and sick to my stomach.

Do not drink all the water at once.. *big warning sign*
you can die from water intoxication. Yes.... not a joke, not funny, people have died from that. Veyr bad for your health.
It can throw off your electrolytes which can make your brain swell and can put you in a coma, have seizures, or kill you.

I hate water as well... but 2 months and 2 weeks later, still drinking it. I'm gonna tell you what my doctor told me.

What is more important to you; feeling better inside & out, having more energy, and a healthier life.... or... Dr. Pepper (input your favorite drink)?

And i have never taken another sip of anything except for Water, milk, and juice that i'm allowed to have since that moment. If you want something you have to work for it. Water is healthy for you, it will help you, if you dont want to drink it, don't. But i can tell you from experience prior to drinking water and working out... it was really horrible, and my body was thirsty and tired a lot more. 2 weeks of water and i really felt a difference.

Just my take on it.. but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not try and swallow all your water in one sitting, no point in putting your life at risk because you dont liek the taste of water.

Good Luck!!

I was the same way too. Water would make me gag, I hated it. I also avoided fruit like the plege, even though when I had it I liked it. I don't know, it's like my health switch was broken. lol.. But now that I switched it on and duct taped that buger in place. I'm A ok. I drink about 12 glasses of water a day, I have a water bottle I just refile all day long every time it gets low. I put nothing in my water, and didn't start out doing that. I crave sweet fruit not cakes. I crave water, not soda... Oh my God, have Aliens taken over my body! Seriously, it's not that hard, you just gotta go for it, and your body starts really wanting it.. Try it, you'll feel better, your skin will look better etc...

Yeah, Emi is right, you can die from drinking a lot of water all at once, but it has to be a lot... Last year (I think) a woman died from drinking to much water, during a contest to win a Wii... It was called something like hold your wee for a wii (try googleing it if you want)... And you were supposed to drink as much water as posible at once, and I guess hold your wee wee.. It was a really sad story that I saw on a Holistic DR's site that I checked out a few weeks ago... So no one do that ok... A couple cups at a time is fine of course, just not a couple gallons!

Good luck!!

I hear you! Only a year ago, I was drinking nothing but Pepsi Max (and yes, I mean nothing else!!)

I have since weaned myself off the stuff and now can't drink Coke or Pepsi without having IBS type symptoms when I have it and to be honest just thinking about the pain is enough to turn me off drinking the stuff.

I don't like water either, I really don't. But having it with some lemon in it is actually quite nice. The other thing I do is drink it in 500ml lots, rather than having it in a big bottle...if I look at 2L and think I need to get through that in a day, it hardly ever gets drunk.

Drinking it in smaller amounts is definitley easier for me :coolgleamA:

I don't like bottled water, I prefer the taste of tap water, but I worry because I know it's not the best, scottish water isn't too bad I think but it's still not as good as bottled water.

Actually, most bottled water IS just tap water, put in a bottle, given a fancy name and sold for ridiculous amounts of money.

Not all....I know the bottled water bottled by Coca Cola is...Dasani :ack2:and Aquafina. I think Zephyrhills and Fiji are cool...or are they :leaving:

I thought I was the only one! I don't like drinking water either, but I've had to get used to it. I did consider drinking a large amount of it at once to get it over and done with but then I read about 'water poisoning' so I knocked that idea on the head! I just try to force myself to drink a glass every hour if possible, there's no easy way around it really.

when i work out, i drink bottled water and to treat myself when im done, i drink my favorite vitamin water bottle (But only one per session cause they still have sugar)
