power to size ratio

i am around 5' 11" and about 13 stone and play rugby. As i have been playing and training i have notice that many players that are both shorter and less muscular than me seem to be stronger than me. i guess this is power to size ratio ? if so is there anyway you can make your p:s better?

yeah, train for strenght, lower reps. Do compound movements. Are you weight training? If so, for how long have you been weight training?
Search "full body workout" on this forum and you will find advice on how to build a weight training regiment.

Is this to do with their abilty to take tackles easier? If so then this could be to do with their centre of gravity. A shorter person will normally be harder to take down in a tackle because they have a low centre of gravity which helps their balance.
I'm not too sure of the physics but it has something to do with the distance between point of impact and the centre of gravety determining the overall force trying to topple you

Yeah. Always remember that in sports, technique > strenght.. So if they have higher skill than you, they dont have to be stronger than you.

How old are you btw? When you don't grow for a while you get more comfortable as it were with your body, which basically means more co-ordination, power etc. It's hard to explain. Otherwise it is probably just a combination of their centre of gravity and power. Train for strength.

Im 15 and do sum weight training but only pecs and biceps really eg 3x10 dumbell bench with 10 kg in each hand and 3x10 10 kg bicep curls because im not old enough to get into gym yet, 1 more year seems like forever. i also do some body weights eg press ups sit up squats and calf raises.

Well, at 15 you are still trying to develop your muscles. You can also chalk it up as genetics. Take for instance my dad, at my age he was smaller than me and didn't do half of the working out that I do, yet he was at least 50-60% stronger than me.

Also, my friend is 5'4" 120lbs and at one point, he was bench pressing 225lbs, he is just naturally strong.
