Power 90 Anyone? Joy Lynn & Daphne's Journey!

Hi! I'm Joy Lynn, and I'm sharing this thread (and username really--cuz she's not super computer savvy as far as posting pics and all) with my BFF Daphne. We had done the "Power 90" workout program before (in 2003) and had some success on it (I was more into it at that time than Daphne was.), but I've since let myself REEEALLY go! Daphne hasn't done too bad since then on different programs, but she still wants to lose some more weight. So she recently ordered the Power 90 program again (We used my copy before on old VHS tapes, so she ordered new DVDs.).

Anyway, I, though following the same basic principle of 3 days of weights and 3 days of aerobics w/ abs, am mixing it up with ZUMBA for my aerobics cuz I really think it's funner than the P90 aerobics. I think Daphne's sticking strictly with the Power 90 program (though I'm hoping she can keep it up cuz having some back problems now since starting, possibly didn't bend over/lift right--seeing a Dr. about it and having some imaging tests done). Daphne started last Saturday 10/24/09 and I started Monday, 2 days later (26th).

So I decided to go ahead and post our before pics and measurements (UGH! I always hate to do that, but it motivates me to do something about it). So I'll do mine first and then Daphne's.

Joy Lynn's

Height = 5'4" (not added to total inches LOL!)

Right Upper Arm = 15.5 inches
Left Upper Arm = 15.75 inches
Right Thigh = 26.75 inches
Left Thigh = 26.75 inches

Chest = 47.5 inches
Waist = 45.5 inches (That's sad, only 2 inches smaller than chest LOL!)
Hips = 49 inches (Big ol' booty - WIDE not nice and round LOL!)

Total Inches = 226.75
Starting Weight = 225 pounds
 
Okay, now Daphne's. She didn't weigh, measure, and take pics until day 3, so may have lost a little over those couple of days, but oh well.

Height = (not absolutely sure but no more than an inch taller than me, so maybe...) 5' 4.5" or 5'5"

Here are the other measurements she gave me:

Right Upper Arm = 11.5 inches
Left Upper Arm = 12 inches
Right Thigh = 23 inches
Left Thigh = 22.5 inches

Chest = 34 inches
Waist = 32 inches
Hips = 37 inches

Total Inches = 172
Starting Weight = 160.4 pounds (She must have a digital scale LOL!)
 
Good luck to you and your bff's journey! make sure you dont give up :) hehe i know you wont. maybe when your done with p90 you can try p90x.. saw many great results on youtube and planning to do it for myself as well

I hope you have great results with P90X. I really do want to do that one of these days, if I can ever get into good enough shape. It looks like a killer! But in a good way. :coolgleamA:
 
Thanks hopefully i can stay committed to it.. results are killer, i know!! i can not see myself with a killer body, especially when i was fat since i was a kid...

are you changing up your eatings?
 
Working on it.

I know if I want to see continued results, I'll have to do a lot more with the diet. For now, I'm just kind of watching calories and staying away from processed junk, using whole-grain when I can. But I know that later when I hit a plateau, I'm going to have to clean it up more, get more protein, etc. It's so much more expensive to eat healthy. I'm used to sandwiches and whatever's quick. I need more vegetables big time.

i know what you mean about expensive. i am a college student and im trying to eat clean.. dont get me wrong, my parents make food at home except they are super fattening, they use oil like theres no tomorrow for every food.. im trying to buying cleaner food to put into my diet, its really expensive..

i had to give up some things like shoppin for new clothes, ive been wearing the same clothes that been awfully too large for me to feed myself
