plz help

hiya id like some advice please,im trying to tone up my butt stomach and thighs,im at the gym could you please tell whats the best execises for doin this

for your butts and thighs squats and lunges are the best

as far as the abs are concerned there are a whole lots of exercises you could perform
i could suggest exercises as the hanging knee bends and the hanging leg raises but they are no good if you cant perform them with proper form

you've got to select exercises that suit your fitness level and give you adequate resistance

why dont you speak to your fitness instructor
cud suggest you lots of exercises :)

You can't do certain exercises to "tone" a certain area, really. You can strength train to build muscle, and eat a clean diet to lose the at that's covering the muscles.

For those areas of the body, various types of squats and lunges, straight leg deadlifts, and a solid ab routine will help build up the muscle. But you should be working your whole body, not just those areas.

Let me know if I can help!

thanks for your help.ive got a good diet at the moment and upto yet ive lost just over 3 and half stone, still like to lose a bit more tho.but like i said my main thing to do now is to tone up

ive started the gym to try and tone up what i can,the instructor has me doing light weights nothing too heavy on my arms chest back etc is this right for toning up?because my partner who isnt a qualified trainer says its wrong and i shouldnt be on weights, but i dont think the instructor would put me on weights if he didnt know what he was talking about.could anyone please explain to me if this is right
thanks

I personally believe that nobody should do "light weights." In my opinion, everyone should do weights to fatigue. The more muscle mass you build the more calories you burn. We, as women, have a hard time building muscle mass so don't worry about getting too big.

I agree. Strength training is very important for everyone. You would be surprised how many calories it burns. Plus, it helps build bone density. As we age we naturally lose muscle mass and strength. It's important to strength train to prevent this. Light weights are usually not challenging enough to burn a lot of calories or build/maintain strength and muscle mass or bone density. We must keep challenging our bodies.

Your best bet would be to reduce overall body fat and participate in adding lean muscle to your body. Light weights will not acheive this. I posted some tips in another thread started by you. I will post them here as well...

1) Eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day. Each meal should be 2-3 hours apart. Each meal should contain one protein and one carb. The first meal should be eaten within an hour after waking.

2) Drink a cup of water at each meal.

3) Rest properly. This means taking at least 48 hours between strength training the same muscles, and it also means getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Lastly, it means taking 1-2 days off from exercising per week.

4) Cardio. This should be done at different intensity levels and different session lengths. Consider doing a low intensity/long session, a high intensity/short session and a few medium intensity/medium length sessions.

5) Strength Training. Strength train each muscle 1-3 times per week. You should lift a proper weight and perform the proper amount of sets/reps for your strength training method. If you need more guidance or exercise ideas you can head over

All of the above things combined will result in fat loss.
