Please Help!!!

Please help me, i am a new member desperatly searching help! I am 5'5 weighing at 180. I am very scared because i am in the danger zone from what my doctor tells me. I am only 16 and i want to lose atleast 50 pounds or not more. There are no kinds of machines available to me but i was hoping someone can help me find workouts that do not require machines. I have been walking up and down the stairs in my building but i want variety. My other problem is food. I know that everyone knows how tempting it is especially when there are so many types of food around. But i was wondering if someone can share a diet plan that has worked very well for them and is willing to share it with me please. I want to be able to look nice in my couple of years in high school please someone help:(

Hey Dollie... :)

I suggest if it is possible to seek out a personal trainer... This way they can get your doctor notes if you let them, they can help motivate you, they can do your whole exercise program and help with diet.....

But if you are unable to do that... what kind of equipment do you have accessible to you? Does your school have anything ?

And yes food is the devil... lol... and being a teenager and not having much of a say of what kind of foods go in the house makes it difficult... For some people, the only reason why they snack/eat is because food is easily accessible... So try not to buy and have fattening snacks laying around the house... have fruits and vegetables easily accessible instead...

The main thing everyone is going to tell you is to do cardio... they're right, but doing just cardio isn't going to benefit you the most... Just let us know what possible equipment you can use and we'll respond more once we know...

Well in my basement i have a machine that is sort of like bike only your not sitting but besides that machine nothing else. I am on vacation rite now so that is whats killing me. I also have another way of exercising i dont know if you have heard of it but its called DDR(Dance Dance Revolution) Its a good work out but i dont know if thats enough. I just need a good diet and some more ideas for exercise. Thanx for your help.

i agree with dex, you should sit down with a personal trainer and come up with an exercise and nutrition program, and the key thing is cardio. The great thing about cardio is, it doesnt really matter what your are doing, as long as you burn lots of calories. swimming, biking, runnning are all great examples. if you get tired of those, playing basketball, soccer, or as you said dancing are also effective.

one thing to watch though, dont suddenly start to do the same thing everyday...start easy and mix it up, so as prevent injury.

The other great thing about cardio and exercise in general: if you stay consistient with an exercise and diet plan, i guarantee you will see results. it may take a while, but cardiovascular exercise, when used with a proper diet, is the sure fire way to lose weight.

best of luck!
