Please help. Desperately need advice

I've got a problem, whenever I run I'm sick about 4/5 hours later. I'm not in the best shape (about 6ft and 182lbs) but certainly not the worst. Yesterday I ran for 20 mins and done 3km at about 2pm and by 6.30pm i felt really sick. I had some dinner and felt a little better, but at 10.30 i vomitted. This has been happening for the past 2 years. I've tried altering the amount i drink, what and how much i eat etc, but nothing seems to work. The first time this happened I'd gone for a late run (about 9.30pm) and woke up at 2am and vomitted.
It's really starting to get me low and put me off trying at all. I went to doctors and he said maybe i was producing too much acid in my stomach and to try taking Gaviscon, which didnt help.
Has anyone else suffered with this or have any suggestions?
Many thanks.

Just a thought. Do you suffer from gord(constant reflux)?

I know you said your doctor touched on that, but you might want to look deeper into it. If its particularly advance, conventional antacids may not work.

No I don't think I do. To be honest I didn't know what it was, but after reading up on it, I don't think I match the symtoms. Thanks though! I've been told recently to look into hypoglycemia, which upon short inspection seems more matching...

You want to be careful with self diagnosing, the mind can jump to crazy conclusions. bring it up to your doctor to confirm or deny if it is hypoglycemia. Another thing worth doing is checking your diet. It is possible that certain food choices might be interacting in unprefered ways.

The first thing that jumped into my head was also gerd, but this is something that you'll need to keep checking in with your doctor about.

I've booked appointment for tomorrow with a different doctor, so fingers crossed he'll have more of an idea than the last. Thanks for your suggestions!

Hi, you MAY have acid reflux (hence your doctor suggested that) so you should personally see a Gastroentologist instead of a regular doctor. My boyfriend had an issue where he would eat and then belch up a few hours later, turned out to be acid reflux, went to a Gastroent. and they treated him with medicine that he now takes daily to keep himself fine.

Another possibility is you aren't receiving enough vitamins or you are allergic to something outside..just a thought.

Hope you feel better soon.
