Plateau?

For the past month or so I have been losing weight at the rate I have aimed (2 lbs per week). This week I have lost 0.4 lbs, but the scale hasn't moved in the past 4 days. I have stuck to the diet, but nothing. Is this a plateau? If so, how do I break it?

Stats?

How long have you been dieting?

What is your nutrition like?

What is your exercise like?

When is the last time you took a break from dieting?

And exercise?

All that asked, who cares about one week?

I just got over a plateau. I didnt lose any weight for 3 1/2 weeks. I just lost 2 lbs in 3 days since switching it up in the gym. I dont think one week is a plateau. I dont consider it one. You might need to switch it up in the gym though. I started weight training. I was doing the arc trainer and the eliptical. I switched to a stair stepper and a stationary bike, I am also doing intervals in the treadmill. I also have been eating a bit more than normal. It seems to be helping.

It probably had to do more with your eating.

Unless that is, your 'switch up' in your exercise was more energy costly than what you were previously doing.

I've been dieting for a bout a month. I am getting a 1000 cal a day deficit, I haven't worked out this week, been feeling kinda crappy. I usually work out 3 times a week. I have been strict with my calories for the entire diet. I have been losing the 2 lbs per week I am aiming for each week, so that's why it's really odd to me to not lose even half a pound this week.

Somewhat, it was somewhat sporadic on what days I would exercise. Some weeks I exercise 5 times, others 1 or 2. Yet I continued to lose weight on those weeks.

It's only been 4 days - I wouldn't consider that a plateau. Hang in there and keep doing what you've been doing.

Right, but you said you haven't worked out this week.

So you kept calories the same yet didn't expend what you normally do through exercise.

So that is probably playing a role here too.

I wouldn't sweat it.
