Pills and workout times...

im new at weight training so just bare with me. R there protein pills? and if so how often should i take them..when should i take them...etc. Also will i gain muscle quicker by working out everyday or everyother day, and, (for example, i do like 2 sets of bicep curls a day...is that enough or should i do for or 5?) -thnx
 
Workout every other day and never workout the same muscle everyday or back to back days. I drink 2shakes of whey protein a day it will help but still need to get most of your protein for real food preferly.
 
there are protein pills but if you're just starting out, you can pass on them. like newf said, solid food first like eggs, milk, cottage cheese, yogurt, chicken, lean red meat, fish and turkey.
 
one more thing about the shakes, i bought designer whey protein shakes....but i go to mix it in with 2% milk and it just kinda clumps up at the top.... is it suppose to be like that?
 
same for me too, thats why i stopped using that brand. if it doesnt mix in a shaker cup i dont bother with it
 
Since your just starting out i'd do 3 sets of 10 repetition on each muscle. Try about 70% of the max weight you could lift for that specific body part. I'd also start on machine and not free weights so you don't hurt yourself from inexperiance. I'm still pretty new. I'v been working out for about 3 months now and I still use the machines.
