Pilates + Cardio

Has anyone tried it out?

Today, I decided to take charge of my weight and show it who's really boss. I started doing the Winsor Pilates 20 minute workout after cycling on a stationary bike for 20 minutes.

My problem is that the pilates doesn't feel like "work". :hurray: But I also don't want to waste my time doing something that won't give results. So I'd like to know if anyone has tried pilates and cardio with significant results. Obviously, dietary changes must be made as well, haha.

Share your experiences and thoughts, please. =)

I've been doing pilates for 10 years now, and I did spinning for a while there.

I may not be the best example of for you, but in the time when I was doing pilates and spinning and I was eating macrobiotically and no sugar, I lost easily 15 lbs.

For me, the key is really the diet, to lose weight. The exercise was to be stronger and have a shapely body.

Good luck. I recommend actually attending a pilates class for a while, so you get the supervision and understand how to do it, then move on to the DVDs.

yes, i have... actually i have done pilates first, then ran for 1/2 hr... and have ran for 1/2 hr, then done pilates... and i felt stronger in the core, and more flexible.. i also felt more energized from the sweat from running.

but, unfortunately my body didnt start changing until i started paying attention to my diet.

nothing wrong with doing what you're doing, i just wouldnt expect to see as much progress with weight loss than if you were incorporating a nutritious meal plan into it, IMO
