Pequin Weight Journal

Different calories work for different people. 1200 for some is just enough while others could use a little more :) Just have to figure out what's gonna work for you :D

Anyways... just really dropped in to say Hey and to tell ya to keep it up! WOOT! :D

LoL !! I did what ?? haha that cyber ecstasy in the cyber punch rules !!

So have you picked out a dream college fund yet ?? You have to plan ahead girlie - er, dream mom.

Who brought the dream weed ?? did we have dream shrooms too ?? I think they were in the eggplant lasagna Mana made. I don't remember much of this party mydamnself.

*music fades to "Oh What a Night"*

wtg on that groove thing. sh-sh-sh-shakin' !!

Holy Jebus that was one hard earned mile!!! It's in the 50s today and as soon as the chilly air hit my lungs they were on fire! I had to breathe through my shirt sleeve a few times just to get things warmed again and I had to take my rescue inhaler, which I haven't needed for a while. Very scary - not sure how I'm going to make it through winter!! Any suggestions? (beside joining a gym or getting a tred mill -not really an option right now)

Lol @ T2 - too bad last night's dream wasn't as fun. I was a waistress and I couldn't get peoples meals to them because my arms wouldn't work. Everyone kept yelling at me. :(:(

*note to self - no booze before bed tonight*

Move to Phoenix: we have a high of 91 today :)

OK, so that's even less practical than buying a treadmill. But all I have are tips on how to stay cool.

lol.. yeah not really an option - I lived in the Chandler area when I was five, don't remember too much about it, just that is was always summer & HOT!

Our basement only has 5ft. of head room... I'd be outcold by the time I got done..lol

OK, so don't laugh - consider this first -

Try mallwalking! Sure, you may be hoofing it with 80 year olds, but where else are you going to find a free, indoor(!) mile long track? And if you get the job in the mall, it can be as easy as going on break!

LOL @ Iwan...

Yeah - it's an option... except the closest one is 30 minutes away. And the snow would have to be pretty deep for me to go to the mall during xmas shopping season... Maybe I'll just suck it up and buy a scarf..lol.

hm....

Is there maybe a community center nearby? my local community center is $5 to join and has a little gym to use.

I'll keep thinkin' on your problem. I'll let you know if I come up with anything as amazing as mallwalking

how about those walk away the pounds videos that you do in the comfort of your own home...walking in place...

it could work...

and there is my suggestion.

Now that's an idea - I hadn't thought of that. Guess I should take my own advice and go video shopping, huh! :D

I love you guys you crack me up lol.
How ya doing Hun…you should be dancing… yeah dancing… yeah lol :D

I went over to sparkpeople, and I signed up, and they said I should eat like 1600 hundred calories or more too, I think that is WAY too much. I learned a bit about calories when I was on Jenny Craig some years ago. At Jenny Craig they had put me on the 1200 calorie diet and said that I didn't need more than that. And that 1200 was a lot of food!! I weighed about 240 at the time, which is wayyy less than I way now, but I know that the calorie thing wouldn't change that much now.

Maybe some of these sites aren't as accurate as they claim to be.

Just want to throw my $0.02 in on this - the fact of the matter is that most of our "maintenance calories" are probably around, or above 2000 - which means that if you ate that (assuming you aren't sedentary, etc), you'd maintain exactly where you are. There are all kinds of websites out there that will calculate your 'maintenaince calories' - it just depends on your age, weight, bodyfat percentage, and activity level. A lot of people swear by dropping around 500 calories below this number for optimal fat loss - but whoever posted that everyone is different is completely right.

Some people do great on 1200 calories a day, but for some people this sends them into a starvation mode, and the body refuses to burn more calories - those people benefit from upping their cals to 1500 or even 1800 a day. There are countless stories of people who'd maintained 1500 calories a day for a year, hit a plateau, then raised their calories to 1800 and suddenly lost a bunch more weight.

I think the smartest thing is to figure out your maintenance, then know how far off that you are hitting, as opposed to just the calorie number. That way too, if you lose weight or bodyfat percentage, and your 'maintenance calorie' amount changes, you'll know how to adjust...

I calculated my BMR () when I first started here, for my age (26), weight (319) and height (5'6") it's 2223. Thanks for reminding me of that, I had totally forgotten! lol... From what you said (dropping about 500 cals below - give or take), Spark is right on. Wow!

Thanks Aeris, I gues I needed a bit of persective more than anything. :D

And I need to work more on consistency too, my numbers are all over the place!!

No dancing today but I did just do my first yoga class (online - I lurve the internet!!) and may I just say Wow! It didn't seem like much, but my whole body is shaky now! And the 43 minute class burned 215 cals (according to Spark - but it was the easy "ground work" stuff) And I did a bit of vocal meditation after - about 10 minutes.

:D Dig me y'all I'm centered.
