Path of the Fat

Hello everybody!

My name is Danijel, I'm a 23 year old IT student. I've always been a little on the plus side with my weight, but it all escalated when I started studying. We as students get very cheap meals, we pay like 1/3 for a meal made for kings :) And it became a habit for me to eat like that. And also comfort food when it came to exams, and all night analysis due 8 a.m. etc....

I never really paid attention to any of it: I would just go on with my life, and when I feel hungry - order pizza or buy some salami & bread and make myself a sandwich. Of course, chocolate was also in the equation.

I tried to lose weight, but failed many times, or succeeded many times and gained it back :)

It all culminated in one day when i got on the scale after the shower, NAKED, and had 130.8 kg (288lb), and got shocked. Like...really really shocked at the number. "How could I allow myself to come to this????"

The answer is simple: I've never really paid any attention to my weight, especially when I was younger and played sports. And at later days I did try to lose weight, but it was one of the hundred other things I wanted to do, so I tried with like 4% of my energy to lose weight.

Now things are different, because I threw everything else out of my life, and my only goal for this year is to get to my ideal weight.

A month ago I was at 113.5kg, but then an exam came, I overate and my CURRENT WEIGHT is 125.5 kg. I feel bloated and round, like a ball really.

This time it will be different because I've decided to stop my progress on everything else. Weight loss is now #1 goal of my life (or at least this year).

I still have a little duties to do in regarding the school, but it should be over soon.

July 1st, 2012 is the end of my first 3 months of weight loss. As I already said, I managed to get to 113.5kg and would now have probably been somewhere around 105, but I lost discipline and....fail.

However, this is only first half of the year. I have plans for the other half of this year. Until the end of the year I will come to my ideal weight (that my friend says is ideal) of 78kg (for 178cm, very pretty numbers :p ).

I made a graph and everything xD

The way I'll do it is the same as when I started on 1st of April this year, and gained MAGNIFICENT results. My hope is that this time I will keep at it.

That is using one pillar of taoism, "Tao of balanced diet". It includes many many maaaany tasty meals, simple and easy exercises, and pretty cool advices (like limiting liquid intake to under 6 cups per day).

I hope that there are active people on this forum, for I haven't really been here much, but I joined 'cause it looks pretty :p, so that you can comment and follow my progress (or God forbid - regress) :)

Anyway, that's it for the introduction post. I usually don't like talking much, because I feel it takes time and energy from actually doing things.

I have one more week until the real beginning, and that week is for me, to test myself how much I can do, so as to be able to made plans accordingly. Also, when it begins, I plan to be only one day per week on the computer/internet, since I found that it REAAAALLY diminishes my productivity. (last time the power ran out, I drew a nice portrait and learned a new song on guitar :p )

So that's it, making plans :)

cya!

AWelcome to the forum :)

there are a good number of active member to suport each other hit our goals :)

AHello Dannyboy, and welcome to the forum and thanks for stopping by my diary! You have some really aggressive goals...probably too aggressive in my opinion. At the beginning it will come off quickly, then it will level off some. I started out at 122kg and now I'm down to 81kg...so it is possible...it's taken me a year to get here, and for me it's a life style change. If you don't want to go through this again, I suggest you commit to a lifestyle change too, and take your time getting the weight off. I will also suggest listening to a podcast called fat2fitradio.com. It's a podcast you can find in iTunes for free...download all of the old ones and listen to them...I find them very motivational, factual and they are not trying to sell anyone...just. A couple of guys losing weight and sharing their sresearch, success, failures etc with the rest of us.
I would also suggest at you make it a habit to post something on here every day...I find it helps keep me honest with myself, and makes me more rigorous in my goals.
The good thing about this forum is that we share our experience, strength and hope wi each other...good, bad and ugly..the key is to be honest with yourself...to thine own self be true!
I think you'll find that the people here are supportive and helpful and will helps you any way we can...at the end of the day, it is you who must do the work! (sucks, bit true!)

I will not wish you good luck...because it's not about luck...it's all about choices..., so I wish you good choices, and welcome again!
Sarah
