overtraining?

Could all you fine people tell me if you think I am over training.

I'm doing a 2 day split with my weight training, doing each split twice a week.
monday/thursday
bench, incline bench, flies
overhead tricep extensions, tricep kickbacks, and dips
squat, deadlift, lunges.

tuesday/friday
barbell curls (with curl bar), dumbell curls
military press, shoulder flies, upright row
heavy pants (not sure what the real name is, think pulling up a heavy pair of pants) and back flies.
i don't have a pull up bar or i would do pull ups too.

i try to include cardio before lifting and on some of my days off. cardio is usually straight cardio on my elliptical (about 30 minutes) or HIIT on my elliptical (22 minutes, including warm up/down)

i'm looking to shed fat, and slim down. i don't want to overtrain and sabotage my efforts to effectively slim down.
thanks in advance for any advice

I forgot to add that I stretch before my workouts and do a short ab routine.

I'm no expert but I from my experience I would either take a break every other day or work an entire different group of muscles if you want to lift 4 days in a row. Rest is needed for recovery.

I lift weights mon. wed. fri and do cardio tues, thurs, sat or sun.
with one rest day be it sat or sun whichever is more convienient for me at the time. I also do a short stint of cardio after every weight session.

My cardio on off weight days is longer i.e. 45 mins on the treadmill.

I'm sure others on this site will have more to say. Some very knowledgeable people on here.

I don't lift 4 days in a row, I lift monday-tuesday, take wednesday off, then lift thursday-friday. i'll usually do cardio on saturdays and sometimes wednesday mornings. i usually take sunday completely off.

If you feel OK then you aren't overtraining. Overtraining will cause you to feel like crap both mentally and physically

What you're doing sounds fine, my routine is now 5 days straight and I'm still looking for ways to increase volume. So long as I'm gaining and feeling healthy I'll keep doing it too :D

absolutely!!! overtraining shows in me by "effects" not evaluation of my workout.

meaning- sleep troubles, constant stuffy nose, muscle spasms, rampant appetite, and even a temper fit every once in awhile.

oh- and one aother symptom I have found is "denial of overtraining" So- I'd guess you are still in the safe zone!

Sweat Daily!
