Opinions Please: Which Template is Better?

Which workout template do you guys thing is better? They are both four day workouts.

M: Back & Biceps
W: Chest & Triceps
F: Thighs
S: Shoulders, Calves, & Abs

M: Upper Body (Chest, Back, Shoulder, Biceps, Forearm)
W: Lower Body (Thighs, Calves, Abs)
F: Upper Body (Chest, Back, Shoulders, Biceps, Triceps)
S: Lower Body (Thighs, Calves, Abs)

This also do 3 sessions of HIIT weekly.
 
They both have their perks. It depends whether you respond better to volume or frequency. I myself am a frequency kinda guy.
 
I don't think that's a good idea. Either you're doing too much for the upper/lower split, or not enough for the push/pull/lower split.
 
I'm currently using the upper/lower split, so I'm doing too much. What do you recommend?

Also, what would you recommend if I were using the pull/push/lower split?
 
I would go with 2 if I had to choose. Upper/lower four times is much better than split 1x per week.

It is if you respond better to frequency. I know many who completely blitz (high volume) a muscle group once a week and grow like weeds.
